Rspected Varun ji,

The following lines are slightly confusing. Could you please help me

understand these lines: Arun Sanhita 1942ed page 297

mangal bad va surya akele mangal ko surya ka sambandha nek karta hai.

Lekin mangal bad [ chahe alag jagah likha hai ki kin kin halation mein

magal ko mangal bad lenge] ko surya ki sahayata ya mangal bad se surya

ka sambandh bure hal aur nazdeeki rishtedaron ki mritu adi hogi

I will be grateful,

Girish Raheja

Respected Raheja ji,

Let me first translate the lines you have quoted

into English so that our friends who do not know

Hindi can easily understand the context.

The association of the sun turns mars malefic

into a mars benefic only when mars alone

is with the sun.

But if the mars bad [as written else where

that in what situations mars will be considered bad]

gets help or is associated with the sun will result

in deaths of close relatives.

In the lines you have quoted two things have been said:

[ a ] When Mars is alone either with the sun or is

in association with the sun then only the Sun can

turn a malefic Mars into a benefic. It means if the

Mars bad is in the company of other planets than

even the Sun can not turn a malefic Mars into a benefic.

[ b ] In order to understand the second part of the

statement we have to find out `what has been written

else where defining the Mars bad.'.

Now let me quote from the 1940 urdu ed ;

page 175 note # 4 :

Mangal ko sooraj, briahaspati, Chandra ki madad

mil bhi gayee hove, lekin agar shani ya mangal ke

dushman grahon budh , ketu ka saath ho jave to

sab kuchha mila milaya mangal bad hoga

Even though the mars might get the help of the sun.

jupter, moon ; but if the mars is either with Saturn,

or its enemies like mercury and ketu, in sum total

the mars would still be a Mars bad.

The exactly the same has been said in the 1942

Urdu ed on page 174 lines # 4-5

Therefore the second part of the statement means :

That if the Mars bad is with either Saturn, mercury

or ketu, then even the sun can not change its nature

from malefic to benefic.

Summarizing, the entire statement you have

quoted means :

The association or the help of the Sun can turn a

mars malefic into a mars benefic so long as the

mars is alone. But if the malefic mars is associated

with either Saturn or its enemy planets like mercury

and ketu, in that case even the Sun can not turn a

malefic mars into a benefic. In this situation the

malefic Mars could afflict deaths to the close relatives.

For further details you can read pages 174-75 of

the 1940 urdu ed of the Lal Kitab

or

page 175 of the 1942 urdu ed.

Unfortunately the Arun sanhita version of the 1942 ed doesn't seem have this information.

Regards,

Varun Trivedi

Respected Iqbal ji,

In both the cases there are possibilities that the Mars might act

malefic. If there are indications that the Mars is acting malefic

then even the Sun can not help and can not turn the Mars into a

benefic.

In this case an upaya for Mars ashubh may have to be done.

In case the Mars is adjudged as not acting malefic then the sun +

mars + saturn combination should make him wealthy. And in the case

of mercury + mars + sun, the significations of all these three

planets will do well.

Regards,

Varun Trivedi
