Dear Kulbir bhai,

 

Whenever the intake of liquor is prohibited, it is in terms

of 'sharab-noshi' or addiction.

 

Liquor has been used as an upaya for saturn, and you are right that

the book does suggest its moderate intake for Saturn in 4th for good

health.

 

Such prohibitions are subject to social and geographical situations.

For example some one living in Alaska or in the Siberian Tundra, he

has to eat meat because there is nothing else available. In his case

eating meat will not turn his Saturn into malefic.

 

The prohibition is for those who have an easy alternative, and still

go out of the way to eat meat or drink liquor.
