Dear Kulbir bhai,

Let us first understand the difference between a Janma kundali and the makan kundali. The two are not the same thing.

Direction both as disha and taraf are fixed in the Janma kundali. They are the same as in the traditional Vedic astrology.

Disha in Janma Kundali :

East : 1st house

West : 7th house

North : 10th house

South : 4th house.

taraf in Janm Kundali

1 se 6 tak taraf jo pahali, hissa daanya kahlati hai

Baad ke ghar 7 se 12 , taraf baanya ho jati hai.

Therefore in the context of the issue under discussion the last kothari on the right hand will be the 6th house.

Now talking about the Makan kundali.

The Lal Kitab conceptualizes a makan kundali entirely differently from the traditional astrology;

Disha :

East : houses 1 & 5

NE ; house 4

North : house 6

NW : house 2

West : houses 10 & 11

SW : house 7

South : houses 3 & 8

SE : house 12

The center of the house is considered as House # 9

Taraf :

Will depend on the entrance of the house:

If the entrance of the house is in the south then: at the entrance will be houses 3 & 8 ;

houses 12, 1,5, & 4 on the right ;

house 6 in front ;

houses 2, 10, 11, & 7 on the left.

house 9 will be the center again.

And so on…

Therefore while talking about the Saturn in the 12th house in relation to the Sun when the book says : sooraj na aa baithe 6 ve the book is talking about the taraf in Janma Kundali because then only the last kothari on the right hand will make sense.

In the 1952 ed it has been explained very clearly soorya 6 te deewar jo phat ti aurat aurat marti ho

Have a nice day
