Guest guest
Dear Kulbi Bhai, The word `gar van' might have been used in the book hundreds of times. The question under discussion is that in the line whether the word ` gar van' makes logical sense in terms of meaning and also in terms of the language rules. In my previous messages I have tried to explain that the last segment of the line has been separated through a dash. If the words are to be read as `gar van' meaning `if there is' then it becomes a verb segment which can not be or should not have been separated by a dash. Since a dash appears before this segment which means that it is the fourth entity like the previous three enumerated earlier. Now have a look at these lines explaining `gard' as a karak of Venus : 1952 ed, page 826 line # 10 " bareek urane wali zarra zarra hoti huyee mitti ko shukra ….kahte hain " Exactly the same lines appear on page 289 line # 5 of the 1942 edition. Now if the description above doesn't mean `gard' then what else does it mean? Can you find a better way to describe `gard'? Therefore I once again reiterate my view that in the context of the Venus the fourth segment has to be read ` gardaa(n) ho' and no other way. I do not insist that others agree to what I have said. It is for them to make up their own minds. If they insist that it should be read as `gar van ho' then let them, I have no dispute. As far as we are concerned we continue to read and interpret it as ` gardaa(n) ho' Have a nice day Varun , " kulbir bance " <kulbirbance wrote: > > Varun ji , > > page 117 line of gutka is GAR VAN KUAN NA HO.... LINE2 PAGE 107 HAS TAH HI KACHI GAR VAN HO. If both gar van are the same then garadan is not correct it has to be gar van, meaning existing at that place. please reconfirm > > sincerely > > kulbirbance > > > > > Yes, Varun ji; after deliberating upon the issue i think i have no option but to agree with u absolutely on the issue that it is DEEWAR KACHI, MITTI KACHI, TAH HI KACHI, GARDaaN HO. BCOZ > firstly no mention of any direction or specific place is there in these lines or as a matter of factin this whole topic subhead shukkr 10 in gutka. if it is garvan ho then naturaly the question that automatically crops up is Where? > secondly these four items 1. wall of mud(clay), 2. mud, 3. ground surface occupied by mud or uncemented,4 Dust seem perfectly in accordance as shay of venus corresponding to house no 10. > thanks and regards; > > kulbirbance >
