Guest guest
{ Let anyone cross check } Respected kalsi ji, I have randomly selected different dates, different ascendants and different years to verify the sarini February and March pages. I have tried to verify it through the soft ware and through manual procedure with the help of Table of Ascendants by Lahiri. While using the table of Ascendants of Lahiri to calculate the ST of Epoch I have left out minor corrections of table iv [ of a few seconds only ]. The entire exercise is to find an approximate lagna through the help of the ephemeris. Example -1 February 4, 1952 At 1:19 pm Madras [ 80E15;13N4 ] In the Sarini Taurus is shown to end at 1:18 pm. Therefore at 1:19 pm the Lagna should show Gemini rising. Here are the results of verification : Using a software : The Lagna works out to 14 Ta 47 From Table of ascendants : ST at noon on Feb 4, 1952 at madras [ 20-55-51 + 0-1-36 + 0-0-1 ] = 20-57-28 Therefore the ST of Epoch = [ 20 –57-28 + 1-10-0] = 22-7-28 Lagna at ST 22-8 in Madras is shown as = 1-16-2 [ 1- 16 –2 ] – [0-0-12 ayanansh] = 1 –15 – 50 The Lagna derived through the Lahiri Table of Ascendant is 15 Ta 50 The difference of the lagna derived with the soft ware and manually derived from the Table of Ascendant is less than one degree. Therefore The Sarini is off by almost 15 degrees or about ONE HOUR. The Sarini is grossly inaccurate. Example – 2 Date : February 21, 1962 Time ; 7:9 pm Place : Madras The Sarini says that Leo will set at 7:9 pm and the Virgo will rise. The Lagna acquired with a software is : 22 Le 50 The Lagna acquired manually with the help of Table of ascendants ST at noon on Feb 21, 1962 at Madras is : 22-2-50 [ corrections done] ST of the epoch is = [ 22-2-50 ] + [ 7-0-0 LMT] = 5 – 2 – 50 The lagna acquired through the Table of ascendants = [ 4 – 22-55] – [ 0-0-20 ayanansh corr] = Lagna 22 Le 35 The difference between the soft ware and the manually calculated Lagna is 15’ which is within limits. The Lagna sarini is off by more than 7 degrees or some 28 minutes. Once again grossly inaccurate. Example 3 Date : March 5 , 1972 Time : 3:59 pm Place Madras The Sarini shows that Cancer will set at 3:59 pm and Leo will rise. The Lagna works out : 18 Ca 55 through a software Lagna acquired manually with the help of Table of ascendants of Lahiri : ST at noon on March 5,1972 at Madras : [ 22-50-12 ] - [ 0-1-4] + [ 0-0-1] = 22 – 49 – 9 ST at the epoch : [ 22-49-9] + [ 3-50] = 2-39-9 The Lagna at ST 2-40 shown in the sarini for Madras is 3-18-41 [3-18-41] – [ 0-0-28 ayanansh corr] = Lagna 18 Ca 13 The difference between the lagna acquired manually and through the software is just 42’ Here again the Sarini is off by some 11 degrees or some 55 minutes. Example 4 ; Date : March 18, 1982 Time : 12:49 pm Place : Madras The Sarini shows that at 12:49 pm Gemini ends and the Cancer rises. The soft ware derived Lagna is = 16 Ge 41 Lagna derived manually through Table of ascendants by lahiri : ST at noon on March 18, 1982 at Madras is [ 23-41-27] + [ 0-0-33 ] + [ 0-0-1] = 23-42-1 The ST of the epoch is : [ 23-42-1] + [ 0-40-0] = 0 – 22 –1 The Lagna shown in the Table at ST 0-22-1 is : 2-17-18 [ 2-17-18 ] – [ 0-0- 37 ayanansh corr] = Lagna 16 Ge 41 The Lagna acquired through the software and manually are the same. The sarini is off by some 13 degrees or some 52 minutes. Grossly inaccurate. I think we have done enough exercises to verify the Sarini and every time it has been found that the Sarini is grossly inaccurate. I think I need not waste any more of my time on the sarini which has been found to be inaccurate many times over. Regards, Varun Trivedi Unlimited freedom, unlimited storage. Guest guest
Respected Kalsi ji, ooops made a few typos. Corrections: [ a ] Example 1 The difference between the lagna derived through software and manually is 1d3'; had typed less than a degree. [ b ] Example 3 The difference is some 11 degrees or some 44 minutes; had typed 55 minutes.
