Gutka [ 1941, Lal Kitab ] dictionary part

brahspat khanna no 8 page 47 line 13 VIRANE ME SONE KI KANE WH

DOONDH LEGA. this word kane is not there in dictionary part. i kept

guessing whether it could be khaan (mines) or kannne ( sticks of

sarkanda) untill somebody told me that khaan ( mines) are reffered

as kaan in persian/urdu.

please incorporte such words in the next edition of gutka.

Respected Kulbir Ji

 

Even im not so familiar with Gutka I use normally 42 & 52 editions ,

there also 52 edition ,but as per my little knowledge " KANE " is

mines. May be this wrong, so Mr. Yograj ji is best athourity for

doubts of Urdu language to explain it, either it used for the term

of MINEs or STICKS OF SARKANDA.

For the convenience of readers.I request Mr. Yograj Ji to clear this

doubt,

Respected Lalkitabee ji,

 

Why bother shri Yograj ji for this small clarification?

 

The word 'kaanen' used on page 47 line # 13 is a plural form of the

word 'kaan' which in Urdu is used for 'mines' or 'khaan' in hindi.

Dear Kulbir bains, This word is Sonay ki kaanay mean The Gold Mines. kaanay mean Mines not sticks. Respectable Kulbeer ji,

 

It is hard to believe that a scholar of your stature who is a blue eye

kid of Shri Prabhakar ji is confused over a simple word. Kitab mein

laikha hai " soney kee kaaney " haan agar " soney key kaaney " likha hota

tab to doubt ya confusion ki gunjayash thi. Agar ye word kaaney yani

ki sarkanda hota to iske pehle " kee " shabad nahi lagta. Aur badi

simple si common sense ki baat hai ki sarkande to kabhi soney ke ho

bhi nahi sakte. Lekin agar yeh sirf " Roti Khande vele terian muchhan

kyon hilldian han ? " wali kawayad hai, tab to baat hi aur hai.

 

Lalkitabee ji, ap jaisa vidvan jisne 1942 aur 1952 ko padha hai wo bhi

is shabad par confuse ho gaya? 1942 ki kitab mein Jupiter 8 mein bhi

to same yahi word use huye hain, wahan par apne iska kya meaning liya

tha? Varun ji has rightly said that we should not bother Prabhakar ji

for these petty clarifications, in my humble opimnion we should

rather follow the example of the fatherly figure of this group Prof

upadhyaya jee and try to feel the positive vibes of Prabhakar jee's

book, by the way, I am also enjoying the divine energy of his great

work.

Respected Mr. Sood

Read my words in previous mail carefully, where already I cleared my

terms about meaning reagrding this word " KAANE " .I cleared that i used

this words in the terms of mines. As per botheration

of Prabhakar Ji, He is an athourity of urdu language in our group. I

believe that sometimes experts also may be confused about some Urdu

Words & may misinterpretept like ANDHON & BACHCHON. Though I blelieve

that Mr. Prabhakar is a best way to confirm the terms of any Urdu

word .Anyone can be confused at any word & the best way is

discussion.It can be raised by Kulbir Ji or me.Knowledge has no

limit. Confusing Urdu word may be in Lalkitab or any Nazm or Bazm, I

have only reliable source to clarify & that is Mr. Prabhakar. & im

sure that he will not take it as botheration at all.If he feels any

botheration can excuse himself & we will never bother him. & a request

respected Sood sahib; perhaps u have not read this transliteration

otherwise u wouldn't have replied my querry by the logic of matra

i.e. " soney kee kaaney " haan agar " soney key kaaney " .

the same page on which this line appears has GARU in line no.3. so

when the whole matra has been missing it would be inappropriate to

jump on conclusion on its basis alone.

 

for the uninitiated this could be GURU and GERU has well.

perhaps u have also not read the forwarding message by the

authour/publisher where readers have been requested to send in the

words for dictionary part at the end. i was just following that.

 

secondly prabhakar ji is also a human and while mixing ANDHEY & BACHCHEY in

translation ' kalliyan muchhan hi nahin, sabh kuch hi hil gaya si' and if not

clarified by lalkitabee ji; it would have been followed by many of the members.

 

this group is for discussion and members are welcome to put on their

ideas but please do some labour before posting them.at least read

the page i.e not more than 15 lines under observation.
