Dear members,

The general perception also shared by scholars like bhatia ji etc. is

that use of gem stones ESPECIALLY IN RINGS is (almost)not in

accordance with lalkitab upayas. after reading shri miglani's querry

in lalkitab group i searched the books and found that.

1. 1952 edition page 955 line 4-5 says dhahine hath ki ANGUTHI mein

neelam rahu ki zahira aur poshida sharaton se bachaye rakhegha.

2. lahsuniya / hauldari is recommended for brahspat rahu in khanna no.2

3. dhoodh ranga moti for moon, diamond or shell for budh, dull red

coral/moonga for mars, do ranga pathar cat's eye for ketu has been

mentioned.

lalkitab discusses general principles and some empty blanks are

required to be filled in by the readers on the understanding of that

principles.

if neelam is specifically mentioned in lalkitab to be worn in a ring

in a finger then why can't this principle be applied to other gems?

The very basis for shunning the use of gems is that lalkitab

recommends only less expensive upayas. but this is never written in lalkitab.

Pandit ji must be knowing the price of diamond and neelam when he wrote such in

lalkitab.

about quality and price the principle of cavet emptor or buyer beware is

applicable every where be it a ganth of haldi or an expensive pukhraj.

The institution of certifying and registering gems is there in india.

Can we stll say with authority that use of gems as remedial items is

against the principles of lalkitab?

Dear Kulbir bhai,

I think Lalkitabee ji would be able to answer this well because he is

well versed in the matters of gems.

With regards,
