Guest guest
Dear Girish ji and Respected Umesh Sharma ji, Some time back Pt. Umesh Sharma ji { a Lal Kitab scholar} had also asked me the same question during one of our conversations. Yes, the Lal Kitab does advise to give young girls green clothes for 40/43 days regularly for Moon in the 2nd house. But you have to understand the context in which it has been advised. Page # 379 { page end } of 1952 ed and page # 126 of Arun Sanhita says. ‘ ab beshaq brihaspati aur chandra donon wahami madad par hain magar phir bhi bakari doodh degi megane dal kar, yani karobar mein barqat hogi to sahi magar ragde-jhagde ke baad. …. Sabz rang [ budh] kapara [chandra] larkiyon [ budh] ko 40/43 din tak lagataar dete jana budh ke zahar ko dhoyega’ ….. profession, career or business would have tussles and may not be smooth … gifting green clothes to young girls will wash away the poison of mercury. This result and the subsequent upaya is not contained in the earlier editions of the Lal Kitab. This advice comes when the Moon is placed in the 2nd house and at the same time the mercury is placed in the 3rd while the Jupiter is placed in the 9th house. That is the context. Now we have to understand the relationship of these planets and also as to how the mercury is afflicting the moon. The upaya of appeasing the mercury suggested in the Lal Kitab will not make sense unless we know how the moon gets afflicted by mercury. When the Moon is placed in the 2nd house the book says, “ chandra uttam tatha uchcha phal aur brihaspati khana # 2 ka nek phal saath hoga’ …the result of Jupiter of the 2nd house will also be assimilated in the moon. Therefore for practical purposes the moon will also be affected according to the status of Jupiter. Now in the context stated above, the mercury posited in the 3rd house is adversely afflicting the Jupiter placed in the 9th through its aspect. Once the Jupiter gets adversely afflicted by mercury, the effect gets carried to the moon because the result of Jupiter is already included in the moon [ brahaspati ka phal bhi saath hoga] . And hence the adverse results accrue. Therefore the upaya to appease the mercury, the planet afflicting Jupiter an associate component of moon in the 2nd house, has been suggested. Just one last word about the upaya: The Lal Kitab suggests “ sabz rang {budh} kapara {moon} larkiyon {budh} ….†There should be a modification done here. The green cloth to be gifted to the young girls should be of silk then only it will represent the moon. Finally explaining the controversy about this upaya and where possibly it arose from. With moon in the 2nd and the jupiter in the 9th the book says, " ab beshaq brihaspti aur chandra donon wahami madad par hain... " . Now according to the rules the 'wahami madad' is when the planets are placed navam-pancham { 9th-5th} to each other. But in this case the moon and the jupiter are placed shatashtak {6th-8th} to each other. The 'wahami madad' to the moon from the jupiter can be only if the jupiter were placed in the 10th house, but that is not so. Then why did Pandit ji say that " donon wahami madad par hain " . I believe that by 'wahami madad' Pandit ji meant 'brahaspti khana #2 ka nek phal saath hoga' and not in the technical sense of the navam- pancham placement. If some one believes that there is a misprint in the book and the Jupiter should be considered as placed in the 10th house, then also the upaya makes sense because then the jupiter will be in a takrav { conflict} position with the mercury placed in the 3rd house and hence afflicted. Guest guest
Dear Varun bhai, What if we consider that there were two printing mistakes instead of one? Suppose the upaya was suggested for moon in the 2nd when mercury is placed in the 4th and the jupiter in the 10th? In this case the mercury will have affected the moon by being in its jar and the upaya will make all the more sense. Guest guest
Dear Chandra, No. I do not think so. In either of the two scenarios : mercury in the 3rd and jupiter in the 10th or mercury in the 4th and the jupiter in the 10th; Pandit ji must have suggested some upaya for the jupiter in the 10th as well. Since in this context he had not suggested any upaya for the jupiter in the 10th house, I do not believe that jupiter can be considered as placed in the 10th house. Therefore I consider neither of the two scenarios as a part of this context. Yes, these two scenarios that you mention might form other contexts. {i}Moon in the 2nd and mercury in the 3rd with jupiter in the 10th. {ii} moon in the 2nd and the mercury in the 4th and the jupiter in the 10th. If that were so then upaya for the above two scenarios will have to include an upaya for jupiter in the 10th house also. Therefore I believe that there is no printing mistake and by 'wahami madad' Pandit ji meant that the 'brahaspati khana #2 ka nek phal saath hoga' With affection, Varun , " cptyagi2007 " <cptyagi2007 wrote: > > Dear Varun bhai, > > What if we consider that there were two printing mistakes instead of > one? > Suppose the upaya was suggested for moon in the 2nd when mercury is > placed in the 4th and the jupiter in the 10th? > > In this case the mercury will have affected the moon by being in its > jar and the upaya will make all the more sense. > > Affectionately, > > Chandra Prakash > > > > > , " varun_trvd " > <varun_trvd@> wrote: > > > > Dear Girish ji and Respected Umesh Sharma ji, > > > > Some time back Pt. Guest guest
Dear Kulbir bhai, Respected Pandit ji himself has used kapara for moon in the line which I have quoted from the book as such: " Sabz rang [ budh] kapara [chandra] larkiyon [ budh] ko 40/43 din tak lagataar dete jana budh ke zahar ko dhoyega " page 379 bottom The karak planets mentioned in the brackets are by Pandit ji himself and are not my additions. My addition to the above is : If moon represents kapara as Pandit ji has mentioned then it has to be of silk and not cotton. Guest guest
dear varun ji, to donate silk cothes for 40-43 days shall certainly be a costly affair.the number of articles is not disclosed; it shall be atleast a shirt, trouser and a dupatta.R u sure respected paundit ji would have advised such a costly remedy. He believed in very simple and cost effective remedies which every person in distres could manage to do. "kapda" could very well mean the clothes of the material being used in routine. it is also difficult to wear silk clothes in certain weathers. Analytically , your surmise is absolutely right. May be some gurujans and seniors who may have put this remedy into practice can guide. with best wishes, sincerely, kiranjeet Need Mail bonding?Go to the Mail Q&A for great tips from Answers users. Guest guest
Dear Kiranjit Kumar ji, Pandit ji has recommended only ‘kapara’ and has not defined which ‘kapara’. Since Panditji himself mentioned the word moon in the bracket, therefore the ‘kapara’ has to be the one which represents moon. Therefore I added on my own that if a cloth is to be gifted it has to be of silk because then only it will represent moon. In the section of venus+moon Pandit ji has made it very clear that a silk cloth will represent moon where as a cotton cloth will represent Venus. Now coming to the cost part of it: Yes you are very right that the intrinsic spirit of all Lal Kitab upaya is that they should not be expensive and should be within the financial reach of the native. Every practicing astrologer of the Lal Kitab has to keep it in mind. That could be the reason for suggesting haldi tilak in place of a saffron tilak; and for those who are rich and can afford a saffron tilak, that should be suggested. Now in the above case, one can give a pair of green clothes once and then keep giving the substitute karaks of the moon for the rest of the days. On the 43rd day he can gift the green clothes once again to round off the upaya. This way it may not be some thing beyond the means of a common man. With regards, Varun Trivedi , kiranjit kumar <kapatjal wrote: > > dear varun ji, > to donate silk cothes for 40-43 days shall certainly be a costly affair.the number of articles is not disclosed; it shall be atleast a shirt, trouser and a dupatta.R u sure respected paundit ji would have advised such a costly remedy.
