Yajanvalkya is a great Vedic scholar .

He is adept in all Vedas , especially

Yajurveda which he learnt from Sage

Vaishampaayana who himself learnt

it from Veda Vyaasa.

Once when Vaishampaayana asked

Yaajnavalkya to recite Krishna Yajur

Veda in the court of local ruler ,

Yaajnavalkya refused to do so;

whereupon Vaishampaayana asked

Yaajnavalkya to leave behind what

he has learnt so far which was duly

obeyed by Yaajnavalkya and this

became Thaithireeya Upanishath.

Yajnavalkya approached Soorya

and by His grace learnt Shukla Yajur

Veda , a version of Yajurveda , aka

Vaajasaneya Samhitha.

Vaajasaneyam = Nithya Annadaanam

Yajnavalkya's father is a Vaajasaneya=

a nithya annadaani , a perfect host.

and Maithreyi. Kaathyaayani is a down

to earth House wife , whereas

Maithreyi is a great vedic scholar.

KaNva Muni , foster father of

Shakunthala , is the most famous Sishya

of Yaajnavalkya .

Followers of Shukla Yajurveda are known

as Yaajnavalkeeyas aka KaaNveeyas aka

Prathama Saakhis aks Vaajasaneyas.

Yaajnavalkya is the author of A Smruthi

and Aadithya Kavacham.

Bharadwaaja Muni is an Aeronautical
