Guest guest
Dear Punit ji , Kanak ji and All Members, Thank you for comments and let me respond later together after some more comments on --- Which source of Long & Latitude is preferable? Mostly used AstroDienst or Indian source for that territory? As shown below, even though not much difference it may be crucial in a border line case. Usually AstroDienst and Atlas of World are the same but a slight difference for Bangalore. Myer Atlas & The University Atlas are different from other sources for Palghat. Guest guest
Dear members, Is it OK to use geographic lats/long given in websites eg,mapsofindia.com or every time convert into geocentric lats/long ,correction table given in book " Astrosecrets & KP PtII " last pages. Furthermore,is anyone using Lahiris ephemeris for erecting tables,or only KP. Please comment, thanks. Guest guest
Dear R Satish Usually the Soft Wares have an option. As far as I know KP softwares, convertr the GEOG Lat. into Geogentric Latitudes. Howevr if one is using the Tables, and calculating manually, one has to convert the Geographic Lat. to geocentric Lat. and the proceed. --- rsatish1942 <rsatish1942 wrote: > > > > Dear members, > Is it OK to use geographic lats/long given in websites > eg,mapsofindia.com or every time convert into geocentric > lats/long ,correction table given in book " Astrosecrets & KP > PtII " last pages. > > Furthermore,is anyone using Lahiris ephemeris for erecting tables,or > only KP. > Please comment, thanks. > Satish > > > > , " tw853 " <tw853> wrote: > > > > Dear Punit ji , Kanak ji and All Members, > > > > Thank you for comments and let me respond later together after > some > > more comments on --- > > > > Which source of Long & Latitude is preferable? Guest guest
Dear R Satish, >>>Is it OK to use geographic lats/long given in websites >>> eg,mapsofindia.com 1. Results will be a little bit different from standard Geocentric ones given by SWs. >>or every time convert into geocentric > > lats/long ,correction table given in book " Astrosecrets & KP > > PtII " last pages. 2. May be coverted as done in SWs to get better accuracy (for the natives living on earth not in haven) as explained in Astrosecrets, Part II, pp 302-320. >>>is anyone using Lahiris ephemeris for erecting tables,or >>> only KP. 3. Usually Lahiris ephemeris is used by Vedic astrologers and only KP ephemeris by KP followers. However the main difference is in Ayanamsa and of course another thing is accuracy of emphemeris itself. Lahiri results can be converted into KP by adjusting for a difference in Ayanamsa. (Western SW Astro-Dienst gives both Tropical and Lahiri results. In Astro-Kundli it is mentioned that Swiss emphemeris is used, the same one introduced by Astro-Dienst.) Best regards, tw P.S. 1. In SWs (pure KP like Raichur, KPAstro 2.0, KP-Vedic or Vedic-KP like Astro-Kundli, Shri Jyoti Star 5, Jagannatha Hora 7.02,Jyotish Tools, Western like Solar Fire, AstrodataBank, Astro-Dienst) Geocentric or Geographic may not be an issue since the commonly used Geocentric (for better accuracy) has been set for default (to give Geocentric resuts automatically). Geocentric is specifically mentioned in AstrdataBank print-out and in Astro-Dienst pre-print-out scheme. And if it is not mentioned, it is understood to be Geocentric, although both options are available in SWs. 2. Hoever it is worthy to note that in KP-Vedic SW " Austraura " (with default setting of Old KP Ayanamsa) Geographic is default setting and it's required to change to Geocentric. , anant raichur <anant_1608> wrote: > Dear R Satish > > Usually the Soft Wares have an option.
