What is meant by reference to 360 and 365 day/year?

In the calculation of Vimsottari Mahadasa, --- two options:

1. to measure a year by 360 days

2. to measure a year by 365 days.

To note " day " means the normal Vedic civil day measured from sunrise

to sunrise.

 

Difference between 360 d/y and 365.25 d/y forvIMSOTTARI mahadasa

calculations,--- more and more divergent, after one year---5 days, 6

years--- 31.5 days, 35 years --- about 6 months, after 70 years-- a

whole year.

Usha-Shashi's Hindu Astrological Calculations, 1978, page 174, " A

dasha year--- 12 months of 30 days each " , gives in a vimshottari

cycle as 120 x 12 x 30 = 43200 days (which is 1/3600th of 432000

years, the total duration of kaliyuga).

 

Using 365 days solar years --- 43830 days, using the 360 days years --

43200 days (difference is 630 days)
