Guest guest
Whilst Sri Lanka is likely to be the hardest hit economically of all the countries, the largest death toll by far is in Indonesia. So I thought it would be interesting to compare charts. Members are referred to my posting on 29th Dec on Earthquake and Sri Lanka chart for further details. It appears that two charts are in use for Indonesia; the first is the local national Declaration of Independence on the surrender of the Japanese at 10am 17th Aug 1945 Jakarta. The other date as shown in the 'World Book of Charts' is: 9:22 am GMT, 27th December 1949 Jakarta 06 S 10, 106 E 48, The Lagna is 18 Tau 46:14 Geocentric angles with Krishnamurti ayanamsa. It is interesting that the former date is celebrated as Independence day as it was only a local declaration. However, the lifting of the Japanese yoke would certainly be cause for celebration. But is it the true chart for Indonesia? The Dutch colonial power remained in charge until sovereignty was surrendered on 27th December 1949 as above. This was also the time recognized by other countries. Without attempting to relate to other Indonesian events, I would consider the latter time more relevant considering the recent crisis. What is really interesting is the close similarities to the Sri Lankan chart for the recent event. The Sri Lankan chart has Lagna at 14 Leo 06'10 " whilst the Indonesian chart has 18 Leo 19'23'' at the I.C. The Indonesian chart has Lagna at 18Taurus 46'14 " whilst Sri Lanka has 16 Taurus 23'01 " at the M.C. So effectively both countries have similar angles. In the Sri Lankan chart we saw Venus as a problem planet because its sub is Saturn Lord of the 6th. In the Indonesian chart Venus again is a problem because it sub is also Venus Lord of the 6th (and 1st) In both cases Solar Eclipse (14th Oct 2004) Venus is sitting exactly on an angle. In both cases transit Venus had progressed to the next angle ie. mundane square to SE position at the time of the event. Neptune is prominent in both charts. In the Sri Lankan chart radical Neptune opposes chart ruler Sun; and in the S.E. and event transit closely aspects radical M.C In the Indonesian chart radical Neptune closely aspects radical Venus, and in the SE and event transit, Neptune comes close conjunct radical Venus. The S.E point closely conjuncts radical Neptune. Event transit Venus (in constellation and sub of badhaka Mercury) closely opposes Sri Lanka's MC and exactly opposes Indonesia's Lagna. Badhaka and Maraka Mercury also closely opposes Sri Lanka's MC, and exactly opposes Indonesia's Lagna. There are other interesting correspondences but I think the above shows that Venus, Mercury and Neptune had major malefic impact on both charts.
