Guest guest
Working from information provided on this List I have programmed my computer using the Ayanamsa for 15/4/1900 as 22*22'30 - and I am puzzled. I checked 3 charts in 'PSA Reader 3' and one in 'Longevity' to get four different eras; and I find that this ayanamsa does not give accurate results compared to planets positions in the books. ie. See below for the book readings on the position of the Sun and Moon, the KP ayanamsa from the List, and the apparant ayanamsas shown in the books which I calculate to be 22*21'02 " for 15/4/1900 . Note 'PSA' is the 3rd Reader and 'Long' is the book 'How to Judge Longevity.' Author KP Ayanam Apparant Ay PSA page 272 Sun 7Ar50 7Ar49'04 " 7Ar50'17 " Moon 0Ar11 0Ar07'53 " 0Ar09'05 " PSA page 296 Sun 0Le45 0Le43'15 " 0Le45'42 " Moon 12Ar40 12Ar24'08 " 12Ar40'31 " PSA page 382 Sun 19Sc31 19Sc30'28 " 19Sc31'50 " Moon 15Ge22 15Ge20'02 " 15Ge21'22 " Long page 50 Sun 22Li37 22Li35'43 " 22Li37'03 " Moon 13Cn08 13Cn06'44 " 13Li08'18 " Can anyone tell me why the KP ayanamsa figures are falling behind the book figures. Has there been a revision of the ayanamsa since Nov 1971 ( the last of the charts shown in Long above)? I realise that the software being suggested on the list is only accurate to + - 1' and this may account for some of the discrepancy.
