Dear List members,

Please let me know how to determine cusps of houses in a chart.

Several astrological softwares calculate charts with primary birth

details and also work out longitudes of planets and their positions.

However, I am at a loss to determine 'bhavas' and 'house cusps'.

Please help me and oblige.

With warm regards and best wishes for New Year 2004,

Dear Anurag,

Hope that you are fine.

For calculating cusps you need the software which supports kp, like prashar lite or gorvani. You can visit www.astroexpert.com which also supports KP system along with vedic astrological calculations.

For manual calculations you need the tables of houses which can be purchased from book shop having kp books or you can have it from krishnamurty publication.

As far as bahavas are concern you should know that bhava is the streach of a house from one cusp to next one.

Suppose that 1-cusp is 5 deg 27 min ( cancer ) and 2-cusp is 12deg 32 min ( leo ) then the I-bahava is from rising degree of cancer to the rising degree of leo. Any planet between this streach is called to be in I-bhava.

I think I have been able to clearify the things.

Dear Anurodh,

1) As suggested by you, I could get house cusps calculated alongwith

birth charts with KP ayanansh on AstroExpert site. Thanks a lot.

2) Now that I have calculations for house cusps and some articles on

KP system with me, please guide me through identification process for

significators for a certain house.

Under which conditions is a planet (may be sub lord of a house cusp)

said to be signifying matters for certain house(s) ?

It would be kind of you to throw some light on this subject.

3) It would be nice for novices like me if for the benefit of list

members under file section some articles/ lessons on KP system may be

stored. It is just a request/suggestion for senior list members.

4) I understand that 'bhav madhya' as such has nothing to do with

predictions as fa as KP system is considered rather it is a house

cusp ie the starting longitude of the house which is important.

Please correct me if I have not assumed/understood this vital concept

correctly.

With best regards,

Anurag
