Guest guest
Dear Professor: I am in great doubt and somewhat shaken about SA. I was presented with the chart of GW Bush and the transits on the occasion of his being elected for a second term as president of the USA as an example of why SA principles do not work universally. Please comment on the following as I cannot relieve my doubts perhaps because I am not so good an SA astrologer. Birthname Bush, George Walker born on 6 July 1946 at 07:26 (= 07:26 AM ) Place New Haven CT, USA, 41n18, 72w55 Timezone EDT h4w (is daylight saving time) Data source Quoted BC/BR Event: 3 November 2004 (won election held 11/2/2004 and gave victory speech. The basic argument runs that there are only functional malefic events in the transit chart for this event that precludes disaster for GW Bush denying a win of a national election. Since he did win, SA principles are rubbish. The main points: 1. Main period of Saturn and sub period of Jupiter are running. Main period Lord is the Most Malefic Planet and Jupiter is FM 6th Lord. This alone does not bode well for success as main period Lord is weak in infancy and combust. Natal Jupiter is in better shape and can resist the aspect from natal Rahu in the 11th house as it is aspected by natal FB Moon and gains by being in a sun-like house. Still, FM Jupiter brings the signification of sickness, enemies, disputes and losses in its sub period. 2. Transiting MMP Saturn as 8th Lord is exactly conjunct natal Saturn in the 1st house: death like experiences, accidents and obstructions. Transiting Moon is also afflicted and as 1st house Lord; oneself, status and reputation are lost. 3. Transiting Jupiter is afflicting 93% the MEP of the 3rd, 7th, 9th and 11th houses bringing disease and disputes to initiatives, partners, luck and wishes. 4.Transiting debilitated Venus is 60% conjunct transiting FM Jupiter disturbing mental peace and team spirit. (I can see transiting Venus helping Jupiter significator of political and administrative positions but it is so weak in transit it wouldn't seem to help enough for a national win.) 5. Transiting Sun is debilitated and aspecting the MEP of the 4th and 10th houses at 21%. 6. Transiting Mars is weak in infancy so lack of power in initiatives.
