effective way to aid in the relief of sufferings, yet I am surprised at the

number of people who elect not to follow them when advised. And while their

suffering continues, they wonder why. Nine years ago during my Mercury main

period and Saturn subperiod dasa (the same two planets reversed), I was involved

in yet another accident with my younger daughter in the car. Although I was not

yet aware of your astral remedies at the time, I was practicing my own style of

yagyas and charities. We escaped without a scratch.

 

Again, thank you for sharing the wisdom of the ages with all learners. It is

Scripture prescribes five duties for us, performance of which is obligatory. It

is also believed that the failure in these duties would result in accrual of

sin.

 

These are known as the Pancha Maha Yagyas-the five great sacrifices. The

Taaittireeya Aaranyakam Upanishad glorifies these Yagyas.

 

These are (i) Deva Yagya: - offerings to devas (Gods)

 

(ii) Brahma Yagya:- Consists of reciting of portions of Vedas.

 

(iii) Pitru Yagya:- Offerings for librations of ancestors.

 

(iii) Bhoota Yagya:- Offerings food to those who are dependent upon food for

others. Like crows, dogs, cows and ants.

 

(iv) Manushya (Atithi) Yagya:- Offering food to guests.
