Dear Professor,

In your book 'Manage Your Health Through Preventive Astral Remedies', you

have a chart as a case study for Asthma - Chapter 9, Chart 11 (1997 Edition)

What I found interesting in this chart is that the primary significator

of health (also lagna lord) Jupiter is well placed and unafflicted. The FM's

are also not afflicting any MEP or any planet. The native developed

significant health issues because of the weakness of all the planets

concerned.

So far I had been assuming that some sort of malefic interference on the

6th house or the significators and determinants of health would be needed

for chronic illnesses. That does not seem to be the case. I think I need to

study many more chartsto anaylze health issues better and understand the

interplay of the health related planets and diseases.

Hypothetically, in the above chart, if, say for example, the lagna

lord was strong in addition to being unafflicted (and the lagna lord was the

only strong planet with everything else remaining the same), would that have

protected the native from all health issues?

thanks,

Rama

Hello dear Rama,

Asthama is caused due to the weakness of the lord of the third house, Mercury

and the Moon. Natal and/or transit afflictions add to the severeness. Here

Saturn (3L), Mercury and the Moon are weak due to the weakness of dispositor.

The Moon is also under the close affliction of Ketu. The lord of asdt also

suffers weakness due to the weakness of dispositor. Venus is debilitated and in

infancy. Venus is dispositor of Mercury. The native started suffering from

asthama during the sub period of Venus. Transit Venus in Scorpio came into

contact with malefic transit of Ketu in the 12th house and transit Rahu had

stationary impact on transit Rahu from the sixth house which triggered this.

Best wishes.

Thank you, dear Professor. This is most illuminating.

The aspect of Ketu on Moon seems to be wide at 5 degree 3 minutes. Would

this classify as a significant affliction?

thanks,

Rama

Hello Rama,

For true Rahu as per jyotish tools it is less than 5 degrees.

Best wishes.
