Professor,

I once heard a story about a wealthy buddhist (who had devoted himself to

making the lives of his townspeople better) who died and went to heaven.

There he saw God grant a man of modest acts greater merit than he (the

wealthy buddhist) was. The man protested " But I built roads and schools

and hospitals! " To which God replied " You did it for merit, so you get none! "

Do those of us who do good out of the kindess of our hearts receive more

merit, or good karma or grace (whatever we may wish to call it) than

those of us who perform the same acts out of a desire to propitiate

planets and therefore avoid/escape suffering?

Thank you.

Hello Lila,

The service to old aged persons works as propitiation for Saturn, as well.

Best wishes.

Professor,

What services can be rendered to persons old age homes to propitiate

Saturn? I think I read on your website that Saturn signifies old age persons.

Thank you.

Hello Lila,

Offering service to the old aged persons which provide them some solace

can be treating as propitiation of Rahu.

Best wishes.

Professor,

I don't donate to old age homes, but I take my pets to visit the ladies

in a locked alzheimer's unit of a nursing home each Sunday, and we visit

a man with cerebral palsy at another nursing home every Saturday, as well

as any other resident of these facilities who might care for a visit

while we are there.

Even though it is not money, does this qualify as a planetary

propitiation? And if so, what planets do such activittes appease?

Thank you.

Lila

Hello dear Mr. Chuck,

The answer to both questions is yes.

Best wishes.

shelter for needy and homeless persons. Could this replace " lepers "

satisfactorily? Plus, would a donation to support a public old age home

be satisfactory as well? Thanks for your consideration. Chuck

Hello Lila,

Even the merit will add to you Karma. The desire to propitiate

planets helps in reduction of suffering.

Best wishes.
