Assuming the 24° Capricorn ascendant is the correct one for him, as now seems probable, he seems to lack the overall karmic strength to reach the " top position " . He seems fortunate in that he his in his late 40s and the natal MMP Sun is just outside his 7th house MEP. As such he benefits by its strength in the 7th house, but receives no affliction to this and the 1st house. I have one question in this regard, if the birth time and ascending degree were slightly earlier (e.g. 2 minutes or a half degree), such that the SUN was just within the MEP, what effect could that be expected to have in his life, given that such an affliction would also be expected to become ripe around this time, according to the " degree for a decade " rule? By comparison, the Libra rising chart of the presumptive nominee of the Republican Party, John McCain, seems to be a good fit for him. As it is a quite good chart, it seems McCain would be more likely to win the election. Armed with this information, it will be very interesting to follow the rest of the Presidential campaign, especially as the transits in the SAMVA USA chart in early September, at the time of the Republican National Convention, will be some of the most interesting this year. On the 3rd to 5th days of September the following transits become exact in the SAMVA USA chart: transit 2nd lord SUN and transit 8th lord SATURN are conjunct around 18° Leo under the aspect of transit 6th lord JUPITER at 18° Sagittarius in the 6th house and natal RAHU at 18° Aries in the 10th house - also the latter two planets mutually afflicting. Such adverse transits, which are fortunately brief, due to the fast movement of the SUN and also with SATURN moving at normal speed, have been associated with some setbacks in the national life. Interestingly, Jupiter will be stationary at 18° 30' Sagittarius in the first half of September, so its affliction with RAHU will be slightly more prolonged. In early September, the transit stationary RAHU will have entered its third month of closely conjuncting the natal 2nd lord SUN in the 7th house of the SAMVA USA chart. At that time, the pressure on the US President should be quite considerable from some crisis, likely in the foreign policy arena. The aspect peaks in late September, when the nodes will again be moving at normal speed. For President Bush, who is running the very strong MERCURY-MERCURY period, his natal 6th lord JUPITER at 25° 02' Virgo will be closely mutually afflicting with transt RAHU at 25° 02' Capricorn and 7th house in mid July. This suggests some of his (war related) initiatives in foreign policy would become controversial around that time. It could also have to do with some financial obligations. Those issues would likely remain tense during the summer as the nodes settle down into stationary transit around 24° 30' Capricorn and Cancer, respectively. In late August and early September, transit 6th lord JUPITER will be closely afflicting his transit 2nd lord SUN and transit 8th lord SATURN, which will be conjunct with his natal 10th lord MARS at 16° Leo and 2nd house. Transit JUPITER will also afflict his natal 2nd lord SUN at 20° Gemini and the 12th house. So, he will also feel the strain of these transit contacts. The favourable placement of sub-period lord MERCURY in its own sign Virgo and on the MEP of the 3rd house, along with 4th lord VENUS and 10th lord MARS, will be very helpful to him at that time. For McCain, the nodes will be exactly conjunct his 4th and 10th house MEPs in early September. Rahu will afflict his 12th house, with transit 1st lord VENUS conjunct his natal 12th lord Mercury and the transit Mercury. As you have ealier adviced, , this is not considered to pose a major risk to his health at that time. Fortunately, his sub-period lord, 3rd lord JUPITER, which is natally strong, will be strong and unafflicted in its own 3rd house and beneficially aspecting his 5th lord SATURN at that time. Early September should be an interesting time indeed. The influence of this would the be expected to come to fruition at this stage in his life. However, as the orb of affliction is wide the IMPACT WOULD BE LESS than if the conjunction were close. This issue was raised as a 'marker' for rectification purposes. At that time, the pressure on the US President should be quite considerable from some crisis, likely in the foreign policy arena.
