Guest guest
Dear Vyas, Good idea. According to the Book of World Horoscopes, the Republic of China was founded sometime from late 1911 to early 1912. The key dates given are: - Attacks overthrowing the Manchu dynasty on 9 October 1911 in Hankow. - Dawn of the Republic with the revolt of Wanchung on 10 October 1911 - Sun Yat-sen elected President on 30 December 1911 (some sources give 29 Dec) - Sun Yat-sen inaugurated as President on 1 January 1912 in Nanking where he issues an edict proclaiming the Republic (In his biography Sun Yat-sen considered this the birth of the Republic). -Emperor Husuan T'ung abdicates on 12 February 1912 (some sources give 15 February). On this day, Yuan Shih-k'ai became President in place of Sun Yat-sen. Imperial dynasty was briefly restored in 1917. Peoples Republic of China established in September-October 1949. - Mao proclaims " the establishment of the Peoples Republic of China " on 21 September 1949 in Peking. - New government formed and constitution prepared on 30 September 1949 - Massive rally and ceremonies inaugurating the PRC in Peking on 1 October 1949. National anthem played on radio at 8:00 AM on all radio stations in Shanghai (Source: BBC radio report). Proclamation broadcast on radio, likely in the afternoon. maybe 3:15 PM (No source). Guest guest
Dear Thor, That's a great start so far. The events that stick out significantly in my mind, are the 1949 events. These were the culmination of the Chinese Civil War - two warring parties for the dominance of a country, bingo! The date and time it's won would be the key event, which may or may not be the official inauguration ceremony. But this will be answered in time as we get the approximate time for all three events and examine the natal promise. Guest guest
Dear Vyas and , Regarding the guidance offered by concerning the follwoing: " One guiding factor is that countries with strong views and pursuing aggressive policies are likely to have ascending signs of Virgo and Cancer as here the lord of the sixth house is slow moving planet giving long term impact. Alternatively, the sixth lord should show strong affliction in the natal or independence charts. " While this is a valuable guidance, I would just like to make an additional observation for perspective. From a study of historical figures we can see the case of Adolph Hitler, who was born on 20 April 1889, at 18:18 hours in Brunau-am-Inn, Austria (13E02; 48N15). Hitler had 0° 44' Libra rising, with L1 Venus conjunct L7 Mars in H7 under the close aspect of Ketu in H3 while L12 Mercury in infancy afflicted the H7 and H1 MEPs. Hitler was responsible for unleashing the most aggressive policy against a race of people the world has ever seen. One politician with Libra rising and L10 Moon located in H6 and L12 Mercury on H4 MEP afflicting also H10, was known for his strong views, for never forgiving a slight and the relentless pursuit of his enemies. So, we should be mindful of not overlooking significant adverse combinations for other ascendants, including Libra, to explain " strong views and aggressive policies " . I could also note that Virgo ascendants often tend to be victimised by their own afflictions, while more fortunate ascendants with afflictions or placements in H6, can exhibit the above characteristics. The same should hold true for national horoscopes. I would be interested to know if has a comment on this. Best wishes, Thor

Almost 100,000 hectares of crops are affected by the drought and more than 50,000 livestock have insufficient drinking water, said an official with the provincial drought control office. Some 1,636 wells in 668 villages and 448 out of Hainan's 2,487 reservoirs have dried up. Water reserves in the province are dangerously low. The province's water conservation facilities are holding 2.1 billion cubic meters of water, only 30 percent of the normal amount. Prolonged high temperature and a lack of rain have been blamed for the drought. Average monthly rainfall since January is 115 millimeters, 35 millimeters down on the provincial average. Guest guest
Dear Vyas, Good idea. I'll be the first to react with some thoughts about the transits in this chart in the coming months and into the year. I am not sure I caught all the relevant placements, but offer this anyway. First, we can note that the Ju/Ju period is operating. Of the slow moving malefics, little impact is seen in coming months as they will be stationary at 3° Aquarius H4 and Leo H10. Some minor problems perhaps for domestic harmony and executive government, but nothing serious. Of the faster moving malefics, L12 Venus is now moving through the sign of Sagittarius H2 where it will remain until mid February when it moves into Capricorn H3. At the present time Venus is under the afflicting aspect of Rahu in H10, which could create bad weather and some setbacks in foreign policy. Venus will then pass over transit L2 Jupiter at 16° Sagittarius in early February with little impact. However, more effect could come from its crossing of the H2 MEP and natal Jupiter at 29° Sagittarius around the middle of the month. Although Venus is moving at normal speed, such that the influence would be felt more quickly, the 2nd house indications become doubly afflicted. Also, L2 Jupiter is major and sub-period lord, so some loss in status, wealth or relations with neighboring countries could take place. In the second half of February, Venus will conjoin L11 Mercury in transit in Capricorn H3. This could result in setback for income in the business sector, possibly related to transportation, communication and high tech. Repressive acts towards internet users could take place. From mid March to early June, dual-period lord Jupiter will become conjunct its own H2 MEP. At this time, the development could be quite favourable for its indications, even if Jupiter is natally weak by being in old age. It will also aspect H6, H8 and H10, such that the reputation and finances of China would receive a boost. Currently, L4 Saturn is stationary transiting in aspect to natal L12 Venus in H12, which is giving comforts for the public amity. In general the transit of Saturn in H10 would give contentment over public place in the world. These placements of Jupiter and Saturn would likely also reflect the positive expectation concerning the Olympic Games being held in Beijing from August 08 to 24, 2008. Transit L6 Mars is in Gemini H8 and passing through this house without natal affliction. It will pass over H8 MEP in late April, at which time it will adversely impact H8, H11, H2 and H3 indications. No major problem, however, is seen then. Transit Mars will become conjunct natal Mars in May and aspect natal Venus, which could reduce the comforts of the people and possibly indicate an income shortfall. In the middle part of June, transit Mars comes under the aspect of natal Rahu and becomes conjunct transit Ketu. At this time a sudden conflict or violence could happen possibly in relation to universities or foreign relations. During the Olympic Games, the nodal station at 24° Capricorn H3 and Cancer H9 will be in full swing and with the transit nodes in asepct to the natal nodes at 23° 33' Pisces H5 and Virgo H11, as well as L11 Mercury at 26° Virgo. As the transit nodes will also be in the MEP of these houses aspecting all odd numbered houses, this transit will likely create serious problems regarding e.g. incomes and stock speculation. Student protests could also become quite noticeable surrounding the games. The government could crack down on internet use/flow of information. Hope these quick thoughts are helpful. Guest guest
Dear friends, This is a 'last call' on predictions based on the application of SA by esteemed list members to the chart for China which Vyas Munidas has identified as having merit. has also identified elements of this chart as being consistent with the history of the nation, including the aspect of L6 Mars to L12 Venus as being consistent with the mass poverty that has been experienced in China. Please submit your predictions before Sunday 28 January. We can then discuss the analytical basis and wait to see what happens. Guest guest
Dear List, The following news story is consistent with the transits in China caused by terrible weather: http://news./s/ap/china_snow;_ylt=Ai_Mmg7PhkW4t4v4U9pJscdPzWQA The weakness of Mercury ruling transportation and the affliction to Jupiter by MMP Venus (ruling weather), effecting its own severe weakness are the reasons. Also in the news, is definitely a second house issue: " Japan warns China as food concerns mount " http://news./s/afp/20080201/wl_asia_afp/japanchinafoodsafety_0802010459\ 33;_ylt=AjnO.PFjnqIPmHd4r9UCDBxPzWQA Best regards, Vyas Munidas - " Vyas Munidas " <muni> <SAMVA > Thursday, January 24, 2008 5:07 PM Re: Re: China Dear Thor, It would be nice to hear from other members. Guest guest
Dear Vyas, Thanks for this. Yes, the weather situation in China is very grave, both in terms of breakdowns in electricity and heating and food delivery to some areas. 250.000 troops have been mobilised to get coal to utilities. People may die because of exposure. The Chinese Prime Minister has taken the extraordinary step of " apologising " to the nation for the severe weather and lack of preparation for it. The multiple transit afflictions concerning the major and sub-period lord, Jupiter, show this well, with other transit-to-natal or natal- to-transit afflictions adding to the problems. - Transit L6 Mars, ruler of accidents and breakdowns, at 0° Gemini H8 of obstacles is afflicting natal Jupiter at 30° Sagittarius (by eigth house aspect) - transit L12 Venus is conjunct transit Jupiter in H2 - transit Mars is affilcting natal L10 Sun in H11 - transit L10 Sun in H3 is afflicted by natal Mars in H9 Best wishes, Thor China - PRC Sep 21, 1949 1:00 PM -08:00 CCT Peking, China Longitude: 116E25 Latitude: 39N55 Lahiri Ayanamsha: 23:09 Current Period: JU/JU/RA Planet Deg Sign Speed SA Nakshatra Lord ================================================ Asc 27:51 Sco Jyeshtha Me Sun 04:43 Vir +00:58:42 WK U.Phalguni Su Moon 16:21 Leo +14:53:12 WK P.Phalguni Ve Mars 15:34 Can +00:36:57 FM Pushya Sa MercR 25:57 Vir -00:00:10 WK Chitra Ma Jupt 29:11 Sag +00:00:28 WK U.Shadya Su Ven 14:29 Lib +01:10:29 FM Swati Ra Sat 18:46 Leo +00:07:23 WK P.Phalguni Ve Rahu 23:33 Pis -00:02:04 FM Revati Me Ketu 23:33 Vir -00:02:04 FM Chitra Ma True Node 365.25 Day Year - Internet Time: 250 beats Day: Wednesday Sunrise: 6:01 AM Tithi: Krishna Chaturdashi Yoga Pt: 24:24 Ar Yogi:Ve AviYogi:Ju Dup Yogi: Ma Dagha Rashis: Pis Gem Vir Sag Sytems Approach Analysis ======================== Sun Good Placement, In Infancy: 5%, Weak Dispositor, Moon Good Placement, Weak Dispositor, Moon Not Bright 74%, Mars Good Placement, Debilitated, Weak Dispositor, Mercury Good Placement, In Old Age: 19%, Jupiter Good Placement, In Old Age: 83%, Venus Bad Placement, Saturn Good Placement, Weak Dispositor, Rahu Good Placement, Ketu Good Placement, Weak Dispositor, Rashi Chart ******************************************************* ** 9 * * 7 ** *10* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * JU 29:11* VE 14:29* * * * * * * SU 04:43* * * 8 AS 27:51 * 6 KE 23:33* * * * * * MER25:57* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ** * * MO 16:21 ** *11 * 5 SA 18:46 * ** * * ** *12* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *RA 23:33 * 2 * 4 MA 15:34* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ** 1 * * 3 ** ******************************************************* Navamsha ******************************************************* ** 1 * * 11 ** *2 * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * SU * * * * * VE * * * * * RA* * * * * 12 AS * 10 * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ** * * ** *3 * 9 JU * ** * * ** *4 * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * 6 SA * 8 MA * * * * * * * * MO * * * * * * MER * * * * * * KE * * * * * * * * * * ** 5 * * 7 ** ******************************************************* Vimshottari Dasha/Buktis ======================== Ve/Mo 10.7.1949 Ve/Ma 11.3.1951 Ve/Ra 10.5.1952 Ve/Ju 10.5.1955 Ve/Sa 8.1.1958 Ve/Me 10.3.1961 Ve/Ke 9.1.1964 Su/Su 10.3.1965 Su/Mo 28.6.1965 Su/Ma 27.12.1965 Su/Ra 4.5.1966 Su/Ju 29.3.1967 Su/Sa 15.1.1968 Su/Me 27.12.1968 Su/Ke 2.11.1969 Su/Ve 10.3.1970 Mo/Mo 11.3.1971 Mo/Ma 9.1.1972 Mo/Ra 9.8.1972 Mo/Ju 8.2.1974 Mo/Sa 10.6.1975 Mo/Me 8.1.1977 Mo/Ke 10.6.1978 Mo/Ve 9.1.1979 Mo/Su 8.9.1980 Ma/Ma 10.3.1981 Ma/Ra 6.8.1981 Ma/Ju 25.8.1982 Ma/Sa 1.8.1983 Ma/Me 8.9.1984 Ma/Ke 6.9.1985 Ma/Ve 2.2.1986 Ma/Su 4.4.1987 Ma/Mo 10.8.1987 Ra/Ra 10.3.1988 Ra/Ju 21.11.1990 Ra/Sa 16.4.1993 Ra/Me 20.2.1996 Ra/Ke 9.9.1998 Ra/Ve 27.9.1999 Ra/Su 27.9.2002 Ra/Mo 22.8.2003 Ra/Ma 20.2.2005 Ju/Ju 10.3.2006 Ju/Sa 27.4.2008 Ju/Me 9.11.2010 Ju/Ke 14.2.2013 Ju/Ve 21.1.2014 Ju/Su 21.9.2016 Ju/Mo 10.7.2017 Ju/Ma 9.11.2018 Ju/Ra 16.10.2019 Sa/Sa 10.3.2022 Sa/Me 13.3.2025 Sa/Ke 21.11.2027 Sa/Ve 30.12.2028 Sa/Su 1.3.2032 Sa/Mo 11.2.2033 Sa/Ma 12.9.2034 Sa/Ra 22.10.2035 Sa/Ju 28.8.2038 Me/Me 10.3.2041 Me/Ke 7.8.2043 Me/Ve 3.8.2044 Me/Su 4.6.2047 Me/Mo 9.4.2048 Me/Ma 9.9.2049 Me/Ra 6.9.2050 Me/Ju 25.3.2053 Me/Sa 1.7.2055 Ke/Ke 10.3.2058 Ke/Ve 6.8.2058 Ke/Su 7.10.2059 Ke/Mo 11.2.2060 Ke/Ma 11.9.2060 Ke/Ra 8.2.2061 Ke/Ju 26.2.2062 Ke/Sa 2.2.2063 Ke/Me 13.3.2064 SAMVA , " Vyas Munidas " <muni> wrote: > > Dear List, > > The following news story is consistent with the transits in China caused by > terrible weather: > > http://news./s/ap/china_snow;_ylt=Ai_Mmg7PhkW4t4v4U9pJscdPzWQ A > > The weakness of Mercury ruling transportation and the affliction to Jupiter > by MMP Venus (ruling weather), effecting its own severe weakness are the > reasons. Guest guest
Dear Thor, Interesting about the first story is that the way it was presented here in Canada. It was said that the government there are witholding the true reality of the situation and using the media as a propaganda tool to boost their image. These are very consistent with the na-Ma-tr-Su and the affliction to the 2L Ju by LO12 Ve. You made a fine point below about the natal Mars-Sun affliction (lack of time to mention on my part). During the last few critical days, it was exact. The Sun is the transit and natal dispositor of LO4 Saturn (domestic happiness), and Mars is a natal weather disturber. The long standing affliction to natal Jupiter by tr Mars, in Ju's subperiod, with Venus afflicting Ju in its MTH, certainly brings out the disturbances in abundance. Onwards, things improve. Best regards, Vyas Munidas - " cosmologer " <cosmologer <SAMVA > Friday, February 01, 2008 5:47 AM Re: China Dear Vyas, Thanks for this. Yes, the weather situation in China is very grave, both in terms of breakdowns in electricity and heating and food delivery to some areas. 250.000 troops have been mobilised to get coal to utilities. People may die because of exposure. The Chinese Prime Minister has taken the extraordinary step of " apologising " to the nation for the severe weather and lack of preparation for it. The multiple transit afflictions concerning the major and sub-period lord, Jupiter, show this well, with other transit-to-natal or natal- to-transit afflictions adding to the problems. - Transit L6 Mars, ruler of accidents and breakdowns, at 0° Gemini H8 of obstacles is afflicting natal Jupiter at 30° Sagittarius (by eigth house aspect) - transit L12 Venus is conjunct transit Jupiter in H2 - transit Mars is affilcting natal L10 Sun in H11 - transit L10 Sun in H3 is afflicted by natal Mars in H9 Best wishes, Thor China - PRC Sep 21, 1949 1:00 PM -08:00 CCT Peking, China Longitude: 116E25 Latitude: 39N55 Lahiri Ayanamsha: 23:09 Current Period: JU/JU/RA Planet Deg Sign Speed SA Nakshatra Lord ================================================ Asc 27:51 Sco Jyeshtha Me Sun 04:43 Vir +00:58:42 WK U.Phalguni Su Moon 16:21 Leo +14:53:12 WK P.Phalguni Ve Mars 15:34 Can +00:36:57 FM Pushya Sa MercR 25:57 Vir -00:00:10 WK Chitra Ma Jupt 29:11 Sag +00:00:28 WK U.Shadya Su Ven 14:29 Lib +01:10:29 FM Swati Ra Sat 18:46 Leo +00:07:23 WK P.Phalguni Ve Rahu 23:33 Pis -00:02:04 FM Revati Me Ketu 23:33 Vir -00:02:04 FM Chitra Ma True Node 365.25 Day Year - Internet Time: 250 beats Day: Wednesday Sunrise: 6:01 AM Tithi: Krishna Chaturdashi Yoga Pt: 24:24 Ar Yogi:Ve AviYogi:Ju Dup Yogi: Ma Dagha Rashis: Pis Gem Vir Sag Sytems Approach Analysis ======================== Sun Good Placement, In Infancy: 5%, Weak Dispositor, Moon Good Placement, Weak Dispositor, Moon Not Bright 74%, Mars Good Placement, Debilitated, Weak Dispositor, Mercury Good Placement, In Old Age: 19%, Jupiter Good Placement, In Old Age: 83%, Venus Bad Placement, Saturn Good Placement, Weak Dispositor, Rahu Good Placement, Ketu Good Placement, Weak Dispositor, Rashi Chart ******************************************************* ** 9 * * 7 ** *10* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * JU 29:11* VE 14:29* * * * * * * SU 04:43* * * 8 AS 27:51 * 6 KE 23:33* * * * * * MER25:57* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ** * * MO 16:21 ** *11 * 5 SA 18:46 * ** * * ** *12* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *RA 23:33 * 2 * 4 MA 15:34* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ** 1 * * 3 ** ******************************************************* Navamsha ******************************************************* ** 1 * * 11 ** *2 * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * SU * * * * * VE * * * * * RA* * * * * 12 AS * 10 * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ** * * ** *3 * 9 JU * ** * * ** *4 * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * 6 SA * 8 MA * * * * * * * * MO * * * * * * MER * * * * * * KE * * * * * * * * * * ** 5 * * 7 ** ******************************************************* Vimshottari Dasha/Buktis ======================== Ve/Mo 10.7.1949 Ve/Ma 11.3.1951 Ve/Ra 10.5.1952 Ve/Ju 10.5.1955 Ve/Sa 8.1.1958 Ve/Me 10.3.1961 Ve/Ke 9.1.1964 Su/Su 10.3.1965 Su/Mo 28.6.1965 Su/Ma 27.12.1965 Su/Ra 4.5.1966 Su/Ju 29.3.1967 Su/Sa 15.1.1968 Su/Me 27.12.1968 Su/Ke 2.11.1969 Su/Ve 10.3.1970 Mo/Mo 11.3.1971 Mo/Ma 9.1.1972 Mo/Ra 9.8.1972 Mo/Ju 8.2.1974 Mo/Sa 10.6.1975 Mo/Me 8.1.1977 Mo/Ke 10.6.1978 Mo/Ve 9.1.1979 Mo/Su 8.9.1980 Ma/Ma 10.3.1981 Ma/Ra 6.8.1981 Ma/Ju 25.8.1982 Ma/Sa 1.8.1983 Ma/Me 8.9.1984 Ma/Ke 6.9.1985 Ma/Ve 2.2.1986 Ma/Su 4.4.1987 Ma/Mo 10.8.1987 Ra/Ra 10.3.1988 Ra/Ju 21.11.1990 Ra/Sa 16.4.1993 Ra/Me 20.2.1996 Ra/Ke 9.9.1998 Ra/Ve 27.9.1999 Ra/Su 27.9.2002 Ra/Mo 22.8.2003 Ra/Ma 20.2.2005 Ju/Ju 10.3.2006 Ju/Sa 27.4.2008 Ju/Me 9.11.2010 Ju/Ke 14.2.2013 Ju/Ve 21.1.2014 Ju/Su 21.9.2016 Ju/Mo 10.7.2017 Ju/Ma 9.11.2018 Ju/Ra 16.10.2019 Sa/Sa 10.3.2022 Sa/Me 13.3.2025 Sa/Ke 21.11.2027 Sa/Ve 30.12.2028 Sa/Su 1.3.2032 Sa/Mo 11.2.2033 Sa/Ma 12.9.2034 Sa/Ra 22.10.2035 Sa/Ju 28.8.2038 Me/Me 10.3.2041 Me/Ke 7.8.2043 Me/Ve 3.8.2044 Me/Su 4.6.2047 Me/Mo 9.4.2048 Me/Ma 9.9.2049 Me/Ra 6.9.2050 Me/Ju 25.3.2053 Me/Sa 1.7.2055 Ke/Ke 10.3.2058 Ke/Ve 6.8.2058 Ke/Su 7.10.2059 Ke/Mo 11.2.2060 Ke/Ma 11.9.2060 Ke/Ra 8.2.2061 Ke/Ju 26.2.2062 Ke/Sa 2.2.2063 Ke/Me 13.3.2064 SAMVA , " Vyas Munidas " <muni> wrote: > > Dear List, > > The following news story is consistent with the transits in China caused by > terrible weather: > > http://news./s/ap/china_snow;_ylt=Ai_Mmg7PhkW4t4v4U9pJscdPzWQ A > > The weakness of Mercury ruling transportation and the affliction to Jupiter > by MMP Venus (ruling weather), effecting its own severe weakness are the > reasons. Guest guest
Dear Vyas and list members, CNN is reporting a minor embarrassment to the Chinese authorities by the internationally aclaimed singer Bjork at a concert yesterday. This would be in line with the transit situation in the Scorpio rising chart for China. The challenge is the greater for the normally repressive Chinese government in view of the Olympic games that will be held in China this summer. Best wishes, Thor Bjork in Shanghai: 'Tibet! Tibet!' Story Highlights * Bjork's statement was not reported in the state-controlled media * Politically-tinged finale made audience members uneasy, said some concertgoers * China-based promoter Emma Ticketmaster said they had no comment * In Japan, Bjork dedicated same song, " Declare Independence, " to Kosovo SHANGHAI, China (AP) -- Icelandic singer Bjork has ignited criticism from Chinese fans after she declared " Tibet! Tibet! " to end a passionate performance of her song " Declare Independence " during a concert in Shanghai. The outburst at the finale of Bjork's Sunday night concert drew rare public attention inside China to Beijing's often harsh rule over the at times independent Himalayan region of Tibet. Bjork's statement was not reported in the state-controlled media, but online sites were aflame with angry comment after word leaked out. " If she really did this, then this woman really makes people throw up, " one comment on popular Chinese Web site Sina.com said. Some at the Shanghai concert said the politically tinged finale made audience members uneasy. " The atmosphere was very strange, uncomfortable compared to the rest of the concert, " said audience member Stephen Gow, a British teacher who lives in Shanghai. People didn't boo, Gow said, but they left the Shanghai International Gymnastic Center hurriedly. Officials at the China-based company promoting the concert, Emma Ticketmaster, said they had no comment. Bjork has used " Declare Independence " -- the lyrics include the entreaty " Raise your flag! " -- to declare political support for various causes. She dedicated the song to Kosovo while performing last month in Japan. Her video for the song shows her in a jumpsuit bearing the flags of Greenland and the Faroe Islands, far-flung territories controlled by Denmark. China's 58-year rule over the formerly independent mountain nation of Tibet has drawn frequent condemnation from foreign governments and activists, often inciting a prickly nationalism among the Chinese government and ordinary people. Many Tibetans consider the exiled Buddhist spiritual leader the Dalai Lama as their rightful leader. In a sign of Bjork's reputation for unpredictable behavior, Shanghai's English-language newspaper, Shanghai Daily, last month heralded her concert date with the headline " Bjork's Shanghai Surprise. Guest guest
Dear Thor, Thanks for the post on this. It looks correct. Also the continued increase of strength of the Chinese Yuan vs USD, is very much inline with the Sc chart. Best regards, Vyas Munidas - " cosmologer " <cosmologer <SAMVA > Tuesday, March 04, 2008 8:55 AM Re: China Dear Vyas and list members, CNN is reporting a minor embarrassment to the Chinese authorities by the internationally aclaimed singer Bjork at a concert yesterday. Guest guest
Dear Vyas, Earlier this year I predicted based on the Scorpio rising chart: " In the second half of February, Venus will conjoin L11 Mercury in transit in Capricorn H3. This could result in setback for income in the business sector, possibly related to transportation, communication and high tech. Repressive acts towards internet users could take place. " What we have seen is a frustrated reaction of the Chinese government to calls for the independence of Tibet by international pop star, Bjork, during a concert in Shanghai. Following this, new legislation is being prepared that will restrict the ability of visiting artists to " upset the people " . Is it an accident that it is occuring during the transit conjunction of 12th lord Venus and Rahu in the 4th house? To be sure, this is a form of manipulation or repression. Now we get word that Tibetan exiles are going to protest Chinese rule in Tibet. It will be interesting to see what else comes up, in the advent of the summer Olympics in Beijing. It will not be easy for the Chinese government to open up to the world - given its efforts to control the flow of information. Best wishes, Thor Last Updated: Monday, 10 March 2008, 07:34 GMT E-mail this to a friend Printable version Tibet exiles begin protest march Dharamsala is home to many Tibetans, including the Dalai Lama More than 100 Tibetan exiles have begun a march from India to Tibet to protest against Chinese rule in the region. The marchers left Dharamsala on the 49th anniversary of the Dalai Lama's escape from Tibet after a failed uprising against Chinese rule. The Dalai Lama, Tibet's spiritual leader, has called for greater pressure on China over its human rights record. Tibet activists are hoping to use China's hosting of the Olympics to publicise their cause. 'Great impact' Before the marchers set off, the Dalai Lama said he approved of China hosting the games because it provided the world with a chance to pressurise the Beijing government to uphold the Olympic ideals of freedom of speech and equality. " China should prove herself a good host by providing these freedoms. Therefore, besides sending their athletes, the international community should remind the Chinese government of these issues, " he said. He added that the international community should " explore ways of investing their collective energies in producing a continuous positive change inside China even after the Olympics have come to an end " . The Dalai Lama has previously been seen as less radical than some exiled activists, says the BBC's Chris Morris - for example no longer advocating full independence for Tibet. But his call for greater freedoms in the region is a demand that China will hear with increasing frequency in the Olympics year, says our correspondent. 'Going home' Tibetan exile groups say the march is to be one of several protest events in the run-up to the games in Beijing in August. " This is a people's march, " said Lobsang Yeshi, one of the co- ordinators, according to the Associated Press news agency. " It could potentially be our biggest protest since we came into exile in 1959. We are determined to go home and nobody could stop us from doing that. " Organisers say they represent tens of thousands of Tibetan exiles, and want to draw attention to what they see as Chinese suppression of Tibetan identity. The precise route of the march has not yet been decided, and organisers will not say exactly where or when they will attempt to cross into Tibet from India. Guest guest
Dear Thor, The beneficial conjunction of the Sun to the 4H MEP, with the 4L in Leo, shows the action of the government to protect the masses. With the above consideration, the Rahu-Venus conjunction in the 4H gives manipulation regarding the foreign policy. Venus is general significator of singers, the arts, etc, so the action is clear - restriction of artists by the government from influencing the public, masses. Guest guest
Dear Thor and List. Below is an interesting story by UBS, inline with the transits. Best regards, Vyas Munidas CNY: Inflation hits 8.7%, NPC announces reforms Inflation for February hit a 12-year high of 8.7%, far exceeding consensus expectations of 8.0%. Our economists re-iterate that inflation remains driven by selected food items and should begin to fade in the second half of the year. The increase reflects the impact of shortages and crop damage due to disruptive snowstorms in January and February. Nevertheless the government, currently holding its annual NPC session, has placed fighting inflation at the top of its priorities for the year. In a press conference overnight a state councilor announced proposals for a wide range of reforms to streamline government and curb the economy. If approved, a new national energy commission reporting to the NDRC will be established to safeguard energy security and strengthen energy management. The NDRC will now focus more on economic curbs rather than planning or intervening in normal business activity-a legacy from its original role as the State Planning Commission. In addition, the environmental protection agency will be given ministry status and likely enjoy greater authority in cracking down on pollution and wasteful industries. The EPA has complained vociferously in the past over its weak mandate. Finally, in a bid to strengthen monetary policy, the PBoC, NDRC and Ministry of Finance will set up a policy co-ordination mechanism. This development may imply that these bodies will be able to decide monetary policy at a ministerial level and the State Council's original roles will be delegated between ministries. Given the broader context of the reforms, the PBoC will be allowed to use all the tools at its disposal to bring down prices, including greater CNY flexibility. However, there is a risk that decision making will be bogged down now that policy needs to be agreed upon by multiple departments. - " Vyas Munidas " <muni> <SAMVA > Monday, March 10, 2008 4:43 PM Re: Re: China Dear Thor, The beneficial conjunction of the Sun to the 4H MEP, with the 4L in Leo, shows the action of the government to protect the masses. With the above consideration, the Rahu-Venus conjunction in the 4H gives manipulation regarding the foreign policy. Venus is general significator of singers, the arts, etc, so the action is clear - restriction of artists by the government from influencing the public, masses. Best regards, Vyas Munidas - " cosmologer " <cosmologer <SAMVA > Monday, March 10, 2008 6:59 AM Re: China Dear Vyas, Earlier this year I predicted based on the Scorpio rising chart: " In the second half of February, Venus will conjoin L11 Mercury in transit in Capricorn H3. Guest guest
Dear Vyas, Thanks. Inflation would have to to do with the Sun, Moon and 2nd and 11th lords. With the Ju/Ju period operating, with Jupiter as 2nd lord placed in the 2nd house, however, in advanced old age, the erosion of wealth through inflation could be expected. With transit Jupiter in the 2nd house, the status and integrity of the wealth should improve, more so as Jupiter becomes stationary in the 2nd house MEP in coming months - also highlighting the special privilige of China to host the Summer Olympics. In recent weeks, transit L6 Mars has been afflicting natal L10 Sun in the 11th house, while also under affliction by transit Rahu. This undoubtedly inflamed inflation. Let us see if it dies down again, now that the adverse transit influences abate. Interestingly, with Venus as 12th lord, it is not only an indicator of artists, but also of foreigners. Hence, it was a visiting foreign female artists that upset the tranquil Chinese with here shout "Tibet, Tibet!" after singing her last song "Declare Indpendence. Related to this, the Indian authorities have prevented a protest march of Tibetan exiles to march from India to Tibet in the coming months. I expect they do not want to provoke the Chinese authorities over this evidently politically sensitive issue. It will not be easy for the Chinesegovernment to open up to the world - given its efforts to control theflow of information.Best wishes,ThorLast Updated: Monday, 10 March 2008, 07:34 GMTE-mail this to a friend Printable versionTibet exiles begin protest marchDharamsala is home to many Tibetans, including the Dalai LamaMore than 100 Tibetan exiles have begun a march from India to Tibetto protest against Chinese rule in the region. The marchers left Dharamsala on the 49th anniversary of the DalaiLama's escape from Tibet after a failed uprising against Chineserule. The Dalai Lama, Tibet's spiritual leader, has called for greaterpressure on China over its human rights record.Tibet activists are hoping to use China's hosting of the Olympics topublicise their cause.'Great impact'Before the marchers set off, the Dalai Lama said he approved of Chinahosting the games because it provided the world with a chance topressurise the Beijing government to uphold the Olympic ideals offreedom of speech and equality."China should prove herself a good host by providing these freedoms. Therefore, besides sending their athletes, the internationalcommunity should remind the Chinese government of these issues," hesaid. He added that the international community should "explore ways ofinvesting their collective energies in producing a continuouspositive change inside China even after the Olympics have come to anend".The Dalai Lama has previously been seen as less radical than someexiled activists, says the BBC's Chris Morris - for example no longeradvocating full independence for Tibet. But his call for greater freedoms in the region is a demand thatChina will hear with increasing frequency in the Olympics year, saysour correspondent.'Going home'Tibetan exile groups say the march is to be one of several protestevents in the run-up to the games in Beijing in August."This is a people's march," said Lobsang Yeshi, one of the co-ordinators, according to the Associated Press news agency."It could potentially be our biggest protest since we came into exilein 1959. We are determined to go home and nobody could stop us fromdoing that."Organisers say they represent tens of thousands of Tibetan exiles, and want to draw attention to what they see as Chinese suppression ofTibetan identity. The precise route of the march has not yet been decided, andorganisers will not say exactly where or when they will attempt tocross into Tibet from India.SAMVA , "Vyas Munidas" <muni> wrote:>> Dear Thor,>> Thanks for the post on this. Aloha, Sally Large 7.8 Quake Hits China; Thousands Feared Dead by Mitch Battros - Earth Changes Media An estimated 3,000 to 5,000 people are thought to have died in a powerful earthquake in just one county of southwestern China. The 7.8 magnitude quake was centered on Sichuan province and flattened buildings in some of the more densely populated regions of the country. China's state-run Xinhua news agency is reporting that 80% of building in Sichuan's Beichuan county have collapsed. Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao has called it a 'major disaster' and urged calm. Xinhua reports that up to 900 students are feared buried after a high school collapsed in Dujiangyan, a city with a population of some 600,000 people. At least four children are confirmed dead there, and a local official said 'rows of houses' had also been demolished.
