Aid shipments are now being prepared. Thousands of survivors of Cyclone Nargis are lacking shelter, drinking water, power and communications, but in many regions help has not yet arrived. Five regions in which 24 million people live have been declared disaster zones. Expressing his sadness at the scale of the disaster, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon confirmed that UN officials were meeting Burmese government representatives to discuss how to help. If the toll is confirmed, Nargis is now the world's deadliest storm since a 1999 cyclone in India killed 10,000 people. Nargis hit the south-east Asian country on Saturday with wind speeds reaching 190km/h (120mph). It brought with it a sea surge that smashed through towns and villages. With information still coming in, he warned the toll could yet rise. The towns of Bogalay and Laputta, in the region of Irrawaddy, are among those locations particularly badly hit, state media have reported. None of the casualty figures have been independently confirmed. The BBC is not permitted to report from Burma, also known as Myanmar. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/7384041.stm Dear Friends, *Sa/Ju/Ra/Ra/**Ra* started exactly at 01:40 p.m. BST, on May, 2, 2008. Guest guest
Dear Jorge, Since last year, I have checked the chart of Myanmar and I find there will be some disaster (Political /natural) in Myanmar. However, I could not figure out it would be natural disaster like this. Can you predict what will happen on 10/Jul/2008 and 8/8/2008? Thank you very for your time. Guest guest
Dear Khin, on 10/Jul/2008, Jupiter, L4, will be again under the influence of the Sun, L12. But it will not be so bad, as Mercury, L1, is strongly placed in H10. Around 08/08/2008, things can become difficult as L1 will be infant, combust and afflicted in H12. Jupiter, L4, is retrograde and over the Sun, L12. If you noticed the transits of last saturday, transit Sun, L12, was exactly in trine with natal Sun, from H8. Also, the 3rd level of dasha has just started with Rahu (storm) which is natally badly placed in H8 and afflicted by natal Saturn (wind). Guest guest
Hello dear Mr. Khin Maung Soe, Currently, there are two transit influences which show the current disaster. Firstly the transit Rahu-Ketu has formed close aspect/conjunction with natal sixth lord and secondly the transit Jupiter has come under the close aspect of natal Rahu from the eighth house. The natal trigger for the disasters is in the form of placement of the Sun in the natal chart impacting the lord of the ascendant and the MEP of the fourth house. Middle of August to middle of October seems to be the time when some significant losses are incurred by the country. Best wishes. - Khin Maung Soe Tuesday, May 06, 2008 11:18 AM Re: BURMA - Burmese storm toll 'tops 10,000' Dear Jorge, There are many astrologers in Myanmar saying that some political disaster would happen in Myanmar within 2008.
