Questions from a new learner

Professor garu,

I am trying to learn Satva system of astrology, and find it interesting.I

have few doubts. The benefics and malefics suggested by the system for

various for different ascendants is quite understandable. But, when it comes

to Libra ascedant, instead of selecting 9th & 12 th Lord( mtrikona 12th) as

benefic, satva says Jupiter as a first most benefic.

In the case of Mercury it owns atleast one benefic house, but Jupiter owns

2 malefic houses 3rd and 6th houses-How can be it be a benefic is a big

doubt for me, I am not trying to question the system,but in the process of

learning the systems approach, and as a student I would like to learn a

After reading the said chapter, my understanding is Jupiter acts like sun for

libra ascendant.Pls.correct me if I am wrong.

Still, it would be a boon for me If you can answer to my question below or, if

other learned members like David Hawthrone can answer it.

YOU ARE CONFUSED BETWEEN SA AND CLASSICAL ASTROLOGY. FIRST LEARN/FOLLOW SA

PREDICTIVE TECHNIQUES WITH PATIENCE AND THEN EXPECT RESPONSE FOR CLARIFICATIONS.

In SA, only the sixth, eighth and twelfth houses are known as dusthanas or

malefic houses. The third house is not a malefic house in SA. The third house

is a benefic house and its lord has been equated to the Sun.
