Hello dear list members,

 

Let me share with you my views on the subjects of Pitri Paksha (Shradh Paksha) &

Navratras.

 

This year Pitri Paksha starts from 27th Sept, 2007, and will be running upto the

11 October, 2007. This period is observed to do puja for the ancestors, parents

& relatives who passed away. Some people do not consider this period as

auspicious to start any new auspicious activity.

 

Navratra period starts from 12th October, 2007, and runs upto 21st October,

2007. During these nine days Mother Divine is worshiped. This is considered as

auspicious period to start new ventures from religious point of view. Any new

activity, business, auspicious performance , is believed, to give good results

if started during Navratras. However, this is not true.

 

MY (SA) VIEWS:

 

People mix two things : religious beliefs and planetary strengths necessary for

deriving good benefts from their ventures in life. Some people who are not

fully competent to delineate planetary influences get confused with religious

beliefs and mix astrological knowledge with it.

 

None of the days during Navratras in October is suggestable to be used as a good

time astrologically for entering a new house which is one of the important

events in life.

 

I do not to the view that one's ancestors are inauspicious or

remembering them is inauspicious. The ancestors are remembered for sacred

duties and for getting their blessings. Therefore, it is absolutely auspicious

to start new ventures during the pitri paksha when the planetary influences are

good.
