Guest guest
Hi Ajay, That's a really good question. It's quite funny when you think about it. I've never considered it because I am a vegetarian. In performance of these remedies, one should adopt a satvic lifestyle, more and more for full benefit. This way the mentality and inclinations change for the better. Also, the birds in this case are the ones signified by Rahu, crows. In the West, we have pigeons as the more common scavenger bird. Guest guest
Hello Ajay, The charities for Rahu are done as part of breakfast to the crows or birds where the crows are not available. The food habits of people in different parts of the world are as per their geographical and climatic conditions. Many people who follow the astrological advice in the process try and modify their food habits as well with passage of time. Best wishes. - " ajay sehgal " <ajaysehg Monday, May 21, 2007 9:46 PM 8am birds breakfast, 10pm eating birds(chicken) | Respected Guruji & senior SAs, " NAMASKAR " . | for propitiation of rahu we give part of our breakfast in form of few | chapattis daily in morning to birds, now if some person is doing the | morning job of feeding the birds, but in the lunch/dinner he is eating | birds(quail) or chicken say twice or thrice a week then don't u think | in morning he was trying to win/regain favour of rahu, be nullifed by | eating birds/chicken in the evening or shall the effects would be | weakened by some extent or to a larger extent,or rahu as a demon | planet might like it, PLS GIVE UR VIEWS THANKS ajay | | | | |
Guest guest
Hello Ajay, Vyas Munidas ji and Prof. Choudhary has very well said and this is very true that one must adopt a satvic lifestyle to get full benefit of the remedies. Feeding birds other than crows is also termed as good deeds. And one becoming a vegetarian or a non vegetarian depends upon the qualities he aquires according to the time, place and circumstances for making that decision. Following paras are from Vedic literature I have studied and filed them in my important compilations: " According to Vedic life and according to all Vedic scriptures, a man should live on fruits and vegetables. Although it is nature's law that one has to live by eating other living entities (jivo jivasya jivanam), one must use discretion. Fruits, flowers, vegetables, rice, grain and milk are made for human beings. Milk, for example, is an animal product, the blood of an animal transformed. Man should simply take the milk and let the cows live, and thus following nature's law, man will be happy. Tena tyaktena bhunjitha: one should take whatever God allots to him and thus live comfortably. Spiritual life is not a question of vegetarianism but of understanding higher knowledge. When one comes to the platform of elevated knowledge, he naturally becomes a vegetarian. " Hope this will help.
