How to understand and manage malefic influences

Dear list members,

This is a very interesting discussion about the 12th lord and its

impact. Below I share my understanding of the impact of the malefic

houses and lords (6, 8 and 12) and the nodes in life and how it is

best to manage such influences. It is an attempt to reflect what I

have learned from our dear and study of SA but

also from vedic philosophy. Hopefully, it helps some list members to

better understand the common thread of malefics influences and how to

best manage them.

The malefic houses and lords are said to bring about situations and

experiences for persons with difficult such natal placements that may

be characterised as a manifestation of the " pain of seperation " in

life. The painful experiences produce stress that eventually propel

them on the spiritual path - to experience the joyful immersion in

the God awareness.

The type of stress produced would be in line with the functional

nature of each house. The sixth house would be expected to create the

pain of seperation through conflict, enemity and ill health. The

eighth house would be expected to create this pain through obstacle

or endings (including serious accidents, death like experiences and

even premature death). The twelfth house causes pain through physical

seperation by moving abroad or otherwise becoming isolated through

selfish or anti-social behaviour (prison, drug taking, alcoholism,

etc.). In some cases it is suggested that persons with weak natal

placements move away from the native place after experiencing failure

or lack of success. The act of moving away represents an effort to

gain successs or fulfillment elsewhere.

The nodes are a special case, where Rahu is associated with moving

the person into greater materiality (away from spirituality and the

ideation on God). This behaviour is often seen to bring with it

deception in order to gain a desired pleasure. However, the deception

often becomes exposed causing a crisis, possibly involving seperation.

Ketu, being very different from Rahu, but just as potent in its

effect, is seen to increase the isolation through eccentric beahviour

or emphasis on spirituality to the point that it isolates

the person from the family or society.

It is widely believed that faith in God helps people to

overcome painful experiences of seperation. More importantly, it is

the faith in God, or rather the active ideation on God, including

through propiation and astral remedies to strengthen planets, that

becomes the best way forward for such persons to forestall or avoid

painful experiences in life. However, it is also helpful that the

persons change their attitude appropriate to the situation. For

someone challenged by sixth house influences it would help a great

deal for that person to adopt a flexible approach and avoid being

adamant about their point of view. Someone with significant

afflictions involving the eighth house would be better off to to

become cautious. For someone with strong twelfth house influcences it

would be advisable for the person to become active in offering help

to others in need - to adopt an altruistic attitude in life. For

Rahu, it would also be helpful to restrain the desires and for Ketu

to adopt a more outgoing approach.

Importantly, the effort to understand and manage afflictions in a

horoscope should be viewed as an opportunity to progress rapidly in

life and gain a more lasting inner fulfillment.

Perhaps has some clarification or additional point

to offer.

Best wishes,

C
