Ista devata and Lagna of Native

Dear and list members,

Why is it recommended for the Scorpio native to

worship Lord Shiva as his/ her Ista devata?

Is there some applied principle to determine which

deity should be worshipped for each lagna? If so, what

is the principle? How are the ista devatas determined

for each lagna?

Thankyou and best wishes,

John Dorio

Dear Mr. Dorio,

The Ishta devata is based on the classification of signs.

For fire sign lagnas (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius), the Ishta devata is Goddess

Durga.

For earth sign lagnas (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn), the Ishta devata is Lord

Vishnu.

For air sign lagnas (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius), the Ishta devata is Goddess

Lakshmi.

For water sign lagnas (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces), the Ishta devata is Lord Shiva.

Meditation and worship of one's Ishta devata are believed to bring mental peace,

happiness, and prosperity.

Best Wishes,

Arun

Respected Sir,

I have an aquarius ascendant (DOB:18.04.1978, Place: Calcutta, Time: 02:12 AM)

and I was told that my Ishta Devata was Lord Vishnu as 12th House from my

Karakamsa in my Navamsa chart is Pisces, but from the classification list

mentioned by you, my Ishta Devata is Goddess Lakshmi.

Please explain my dilemma.

Regards,

Deep.

Dear Arun,

The first half of Cp is water and the second half is Earth.

So does the logical conclusion follow?

Dear Vyas,

Capricorn is classified as an Earth sign, so yes the logical conclusion should

follow.

Is there a source that lists Capricorn as being half/half?

At any rate, Capricorn has long been a different sign to interpret correctly

because there are indeed mixed influences at work there.

Best Wishes,

Dear Arun,

Yes, this is mentioned in on the Professor's website about half water-half

Earth.

http://www.yournetastrologer.com/basic/b15.htm second paragraph under

Capricorn:

" The first half of Capricorn is watery and the second half is earthy. "

However, in the first paragraph we see, " It is an earthy sign ruled... "

So this point needs a little more explanation.

Best regards,

Vyas Munidas

Hello Mr. Munidas,

For the purpose of identifying Ishta Devta and for all other such purposes

Capricorn is taken as earthy sign.

Thanks Professor.

So for what purpose would we consider the watery half? Is there a case study

that I/we can look at?

Hello Mr. Deep Shankar,

Systems'Approach for interpreting horoscopes has some differences viz a viz

classical literature. You can follow any of the advices regarding Ishta

Devta. SA certainly provides/suggests better predictive techniques in

comparison to prevalent classical techniques.

Thank you so much for resolving my query.

I would like to ask you if I can worship Lord Vishnu along with Goddess

Lakshmi ( Shri Lakshmi Narayana), thus fulfilling both principles.

mentioned by you, my Ishta Devata is Goddess Lakshmi.

Please explain my dilemma.

Regards,

Deep.

Dear Mr.

Lakshmi.

For water sign lagnas (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces), the Ishta devata is Lord

Shiva.

Meditation and worship of one's Ishta devata are believed to bring mental

peace, happiness, and prosperity.

Best Wishes,

Arun

Why is it recommended for the Scorpio native to

worship Lord Shiva as his/ her Ista devata?

Is there some applied principle to determine which

deity should be worshipped for each lagna? If so, what

is the principle? How are the ista devatas determined

for each lagna?

Thankyou and best wishes,

John Dorio

Re: Ista devata and Lagna of Native

Respected Sir,

Thank you so much for resolving my query.

I would like to ask you if I can worship Lord Vishnu along with Goddess

Lakshmi ( Shri Lakshmi Narayana), thus fulfilling both principles.

Regards,

Deep.

Hello Mr. Deep Shankar,

Systems'Approach for interpreting horoscopes has some differences viz a viz

classical literature. You can follow any of the advices regarding Ishta

Devta. SA certainly provides/suggests better predictive techniques in

comparison to prevalent classical techniques.

Best wishes,

Re: Ista devata and Lagna of Native

Respected Sir,

I have an aquarius ascendant (DOB:18.04.1978, Place: Calcutta, Time: 02:12

AM) and I was told that my Ishta Devata was Lord Vishnu as 12th House from

my Karakamsa in my Navamsa chart is Pisces, but from the classification list

mentioned by you, my Ishta Devata is Goddess Lakshmi.

Please explain my dilemma.

Regards,

Deep.
