Guest guest
Hi PNR, what is a birth star? Are you referring to the Nakshatras? Please let me know. Thanks, R. pnr312 <pnr312 wrote: Respected Professor, Although SA does not recognize stars I was wondering if a person's birth star has any role to play at all? Does it influence the nature/physical appearance of a person? What kind of significance does it have if any? Thanks and regards, PNR
Guest guest
Hi R, It is the star/nakshatra in which the moon is placed at the time of one's birth. When a horoscope is generated you can identify this by seeing the nakshatra and pada which corresponds to the moon in the table. Regards, PNR , RPM <rupamede> wrote: > Hi PNR, > what is a birth star? Guest guest
Hello PNR, Birth Nakshatra is only relevant for identifying the balance main period of the particular planet at birth. Guest guest
Hi PNR, Yes, that is what I thought. My moon is in Taurus, so it is in Krittika Nakshatra, however I idnetify myself much more with the Nakshatra where my Ascendant is, which is Uttara Ashada. Also, by examining my partner's chart, not knowing correct ascendant, Nakshatra Uttata Phalguini that extends from Leo to Virgo gives a good description of the person in question, much more than the Nakshatra where the Moon is. You also mention pada, does that mean one Nakshatra can then be subdivided into padas, and if so, what would that be like? Thanks again, R. pnr312 <pnr312 wrote: Hi R, It is the star/nakshatra in which the moon is placed at the time of one's birth. Guest guest
Hi R, I'm not sure about the nakshatra of the ascendant since the convention has always been to idenify the nakshatra corresponding to the moon for the janma nakshatra. But as Professor has replied that there is no significance apart from the purposes of calculation of balance of the Dasha of the planet in question I guess we can ignore the other aspects. To answer your question, each nakshatra is divided into 4 padas and each pada occupies specific degrees in a house. This you can identify from the table. As you have mentioned, UttaraPhalguni extends from Leo to Virgo which means that the first pada of this nakshatra starts in Leo and ends with its 4th pada in Virgo. As far as assessing a persons description from the nakshatra in the absence of a clear ascendant I guess you should check this with the professor. I'm sure he'll be able to give you an alternate method. Hope my explanation helps. Regards, PNR , RPM <rupamede> wrote: > Hi PNR, > Yes, that is what I thought. Guest guest
Hi PNR, Thank you for your explanation, it helps. After I sent the email, I realized that in Navamsa I have Moon in Capricorn, not sure about the degree and anyway not sure divisional charts have degrees at all, but I would say maybe because Moon in Navamsa is where the Ascendant is in Rasi, then this might be a double Uttara Ashada influence on my chart... but I await for the professor's reply to clarify all our doubts as he normally does so well ;-). Dear Professor, Still regarding my natal moon's strenght, I was trying to find something about planetary strenght on your website but failed to find it. Thanks again, R. pnr312 <pnr312 wrote: Hi R, I'm not sure about the nakshatra of the ascendant since the convention has always been to idenify the nakshatra corresponding to the moon for the janma nakshatra.
