Guest guest
Dear Prof Choudhry, I am trying to understand the difference between the two approaches. I am a Scorpio ascendant ( 9/7/1963, New Delhi, 4 pm) and Capricorn Rashi. In the traditional system, Saturn transiting the 7th house (Lord = Moon) and Mars in 4th (own house and aspecting own house = 11th- from natal moon). Mars and Saturn aspect each other. This means that 7 th house (house of wife) is under pressure as it is occupied by an enemy : Saturn and is being aspected by an enemy: Mars). This means that this should be a troublesome period for my wife but there should be relief to the 4th house, as it will be occupied by its lord, albeit a weak lord (transit of 4th house from natal moon). Also, from 28 September, it will be aspected by a weak Jupiter (10th placement), although it (Jupiter) is no longer aspected by Saturn. The dasha Saturn-saturn should also not be that good as Saturn is in cancer (= enemy's house). Rahu is well paced in 3rd to natal moon but Ketu in 9th not so good. SA: From what I have read, mars is a functional malefic. Counted from the ascendant, it is good that it is in the 6th house. Also, it aspects the lagna (its own sign), again this should not be a bad period. Saturn (not a functional malefic) in the 9th should be good for luck and dharma and it also aspects its own house, the third house. Rahu in 5th (house of children) should mean problems for children and Ketu in 11th should mean reduction in income. Am I correct in the interpretation of the Systems approach. One thing I cannot understand is that Mars is lord of Lagna and yet a functional malefic! However, when I ran Jup-Mars, it was not such a great period? Why is it so and what is the evidence for this? Is it that the ancient seers did not realise it or is it that people are wrongly interpreting? I look forward to your comments. I will update the weekly forecast for the week ending 31st August, as soon as I complete it. It just got overlooked. Guest guest
Hello Mr. Sharma, You are successfully trying to gain knowledge of SA. But, you have to have patience and study SA material on the website or in the books. For Scorpio asdt Saturn is a functional benefic and Mars is a functional malefic in SA as the mooltrikona sign of Mars is in the sixth house which rules diseases, debts and disputes. It seems that people are misinterpreting the functional nature of the planets or there may be interpolations in the classical texts. In SA all analysis is made with reference to the ascendant only. Saturn's aspect on Mars is favorable. Mars in its own house in sixth house is also good. Aspect of Mars on Saturn is not good. The aspects and conjunctions are applicable within a specified range/orb. 5 degrees or 1 degree depending upon the strength of the planets and the nature of the planets. For Scorpio asdt born persons Saturn in Cancer brings good results and gains from foreign lands.
