Murali, Although as you pointed out, Sun is weak, it positively aspects the 2H of status and wealth from the 8th giving some benefit. I would guess that he began accumulating wealth during his Sun main period. Technically even sun is weak, depending on a weak afflicted 8th lord, Jupiter who doesnt have a dispositor and is well placed( an advantage maybe), extreme weakness of both saturn(workers) and 6th lord venus (luxuries,legal matters, solvency etc) cannot be ignored either. Though Mahadasha of affluent planets were running, yet they themself are weak,and weak subperiods and transits should have had a say. The advantages of the chart are basically, a strong well placed malefic Mars( industry,assets, luxuries etc), and weak Sun(MBP) aspecting on the8/2 axis( I rememer you observing that planets in the 8th are good for the 2nd house by aspect).In addition placement of Moon in another royal sign benefits. Good placement of mercury to some extent. Though placements do indicate inheritence and some affluence...But had we not known about the person, is it possible to gauge the level of affluence?
