Thanks for your email for further discussion on the topic.

has already told you about the weaknesses in your natal

chart and problems you are facing or have faced due to that. Now as

you have specifically questioned about investment in stocks and shares

in year 2005, we need to analyze that the strength/ weaknesses/

afflictions of/ to the significators ruling this area.

For stock market the strength of 5th house and it's lord (speculative

gains), general significator Mercury (analytical ability), 8th house

(easy gains) and 2nd house (family and wealth) shall be seen. In your

natal chart, 5th lord Jupiter is weak because it's dispositor Mercury

is afflicted and the MEP of the house of placement of Jupiter is also

afflicted by Most Malefic Planet (MMP) Moon. General significator for

stocks i.e. Mercury is afflicted in the natal chart. MEP of 8th house

(easy gains) and 2nd house (wealth) is afflicted by MMP Moon. Hence,

in general speculation and stock investments don't seem to be

beneficial for you.

Now, as you have mentioned in your earlier email that you think you

will gain by stocks in next one month, in transit MEP of all the even

houses are afflicted which certainly includes 2nd house too. Moreover,

Mercury, the lord of 2nd house - the house of family and accumulated

wealth as well as the general significator for stocks is placed in

12th house of losses in transit and under close affliction of Rahu.

This affliction continues till 30-Aug-2005 as Mercury goes retrograde

from 24-July till 16-August making it's placement under 5 degree orb

with Rahu. Transit Rahu is also afflicting your natal Mercury and

Jupiter. Hence, instead of gaining from stocks, you would rather end

up loosing your hard earned accumulated money. If you go for

speculation, that money is gone else if you invest for short term

benefits, you need to wait for a long time for your money to grow.

are risky for you. As you said that you are having intution about

gains for the next one month, that is because of the influence of

transit Rahu (manipulator/ speculator) to your Natal Moon (Mind).

As far as real estate is concerned, that option still seems better as

told by . Reason - As of now Mars - the lord of house of

general fortune and the primary significator of immovable property is

placed in 8th house - the house of obstacles and disappointments. It

will move onto your 9th house on 19-July but will be weak till

25-July. After that, as Mars will be placed in it's MT sign as well as

your house of general fortune, investments in real estate might be

beneficial till September 5. However, as Mars is weak in your natal

chart being in the state of infancy as well as on account of its

dispositor, you shall strengthen Mars, Jupiter and Mercury and shall

regularly propitiate Moon, Rahu and Ketu.

Dear Rohit,

In addition to what Prof Choudhry and Mr Amin Deep Saini have said, I would

like to offer the following comments on your chart.

You are a Leo lagna. Lagna is the point on the zodiac that rises on the

eastern horizon when you were born. In your chart the lagna point is at

21Le43. 21*43' in all signs therefore becomes the most effective point

(MEP). Leo is ruled by Sun. Sun, lord of lagna, is within 6 minutes (in

angle, not time) of Ketu. Ketu is a malefic planet and is known as the

" planet of violent miseries " . The lord of lagna is almost exactly conjoined

by Ketu. This is a MAJOR affliction in your chart and needs to be

addressed. Unless this affliction is addressed there will be little

improvement in your life. How does one address this affliction? Ketu needs

to be propitiated. How is propitiation done and why? This affliction is

due to your karma of previous lives. But God, in his infinite mercy, has

shown a way out of the " misery " that you are destined to suffer.

Propitiation is a part of vedic astrology. When Ketu afflicts, the

following is the recommended propitiatory measures:

" Ketu's affliction causes violent miseries of all types. To ward off the

evil impact of the planet Ketu the person is suggested to render service /

help to institutions / persons working for spiritualism. "

Make a regular, annual donation to a religious / spiritual organisation.

This will offset and reduce the affliction of Ketu. This HAS to be done if

your situation in life is to improve.

Mercury, lord of the 2nd house of " family, wealth and status " is almost

exactly on the MEP of the 2nd house. Also, Mercury is in it's own

Mooltrikona sign and is exalted being in Virgo. Normally, this would mean a

very strong Mercury. But in your chart, unofortunately, Moon, lord of the

12th house, which is the most malefic planet (MMP) for you, is within 2*11'

of Mercury. This is considered a " close " conjunction. Mercury gets

afflicted. Also, Moon is within 1*50' of the MEP of the 2nd house. So 2nd

house gets afflicted. By aspect, the 8th house also gets afflicted.

Mercury, 2nd and 8th house are afflicted. Affliction by the MMP is

something to be concerned about. Moon also needs to be propitiated.

" The Moon rules the mother, wife, queen and old aged needy women. When as a

functional malefic planet the Moon is causing afflictions in a horoscope the

person is suggested to render service to one's mother or one's wife or old

aged needy women. The person should abide by the law of the land. The

person can also offer food articles to a cow. "

You can easily do the above. You need to do these on a REGULAR basis.

The other four benefics, Jupiter, Mars, Venus and Saturn, though

unafflicted, are weak for various reasons. Strengthening of these planets

You NEED to do the above suggested propitiatory and strengthening. Unless

you do these, there will be little improvement in your situation.
