Guest guest
Dear Sanya, There are three different systems of house divisions. [ 1 ] Equal house or Ptolemaic: This system is the most ancient Vedic system. I use this system [ 2 ] Dasham system or Porphyry's system: Some vedic astrology followers use this system where along with the lagna the dasham { MC } is also calculated and later all the bhav are derived from that. When we started learning astrology we used this system. Later on I switched to the earlier one because that is the classic system. In both these systems the Lagna is considered as bhav-madhya , the center of the house. [ 3 ] Placidus's or semi-arc system : KP and the western astrology follows that system. No Vedic scholar uses that system. It is upto you which sysytem you choose.
