Guest guest
Gems : the myth & reality In the classic works of astrology there is no mention of wearing gems as a remedy. At places donating gems has been mentioned in order to propitiate planets, so have been mentioned precious metals and every day objects like haldi, mustard oil, til etc. Gems have been considered, like many other objects, as receptors of the planetary radiation. It is believed that the gems collect the radiating waves of a planet and transfer it to the body. It is traditionally believed that a particular gem is more efficient in collecting, absorbing and transferring to the body, these waves of a particular planet, like yellow sapphire for Jupiter or coral for Mars and so on. Therefore gems behave like the planets they represent. If a planet is malefic in the kundali, the radiating waves collected by the gem will be malefic; and if the planet is a benefic the waves collected by the gem will be benefic. A gem doesn’t have the power to convert malefic waves into benefic or vice-versa. Remember it is just a passive receptor, just like a dish antenna collecting Radio/TV signals. One should wear a gem of a planet which is a benefic for that kundali. One should not wear a gem for a malefic planet. No one would want a gem to collect malefic waves and be transferred to his body. Unfortunately most of the astrologers advise wearing a gem for a malefic. If they find Saturn acting malefic they would advise to wear blue sapphire; now that would make things worse rather than improve it. Therefore a gem should be worn only for an “ anukool grah”.. a planet which is positive and a benefic for the kundali . A gem should not be worn for a “pratikool grah”.. a planet which is hostile and a malefic for the kundali. If a gem acts like an antenna dish collecting radiating waves, it should be very finely tuned, or in other words it should be flawless. Therefore only a flawless gem is worth using for astrological purposes. A flawed gem will distort the waves it receives which might cause harm. A flawed gem might be good enough for a jewelry but not for astrology. Therefore an absolutely flawless “ amal { mal rahit }” gem alone should be worn, what ever the price. Remember a flawless gem is a rare thing and extremely expensive. A gem is just a piece of stone till it is energized and sanctified by a qualified mantra shatra pundit. Not every one knows how to energize and sanctify a gem. It is a rare knowledge, so rare that I have not come across any pundit who can really do it. Therefore a gem should be worn only after it has been sanctified and energized by a competent mantra shastra pundit. Now : Is it worth wearing an expensive gem, with so many ifs and buts, when other far less expensive alternatives are available in folk remedies? Is it worth wearing some thing that doesn’t find a mention in astrology classics? Is it worth wearing a gem for just 25% of the planetary impact? { read from the files another article on gems & folk remedies} Bhooshan Priya Find out what India is talking about on - Answers India Send FREE SMS to your friend's mobile from Messenger Version 8. Guest guest
Respected Sir, Thank you very much for this detailed article. Sir, I had been wearing this stone 'Gomed " for Rahu for past 2 years. Sir, you are right, many astrologers prescribe Gems of a planet for a malefic planet also saying that it is for protection from the planet. Anyway, immediately after seeing this article, I removed the stone. I only wear Diamond and emerald now.
