Guest guest
Dear raga, Yes, you should not gift them to any one. If you have to get rid of old clothes, leave them in a temple. Guest guest
Respected Priyaji, I don't think I will be allowed to leave old clothes in the temple. Is it advisable to accept some token money from sisters for clothes? This way it will not be a gift but a kind of sale. Also if I cut the saree and make something else like a suit or curtain, would it still be counted as mine? Can I gift or donate new clothes to somebody? Thanks and best regards, Raga < wrote: Dear raga,Yes, you should not gift them to any one. Guest guest
Dear Raga, This prohibition is for gifting clothes as a part of some upaya; i.e. if you gift clothes with a purpose in mind or a 'sankalp' in mind. If you are gifting them just without any intention then you do not have to bother about the prohibition. Guest guest
Respected Priyaji, Thanks very much for clarification. There is one more thing in Lalkitab for people having Jupiter in 7th house that 'One should not keep idols of god in ones house' and also 'should not keep the statue of Lord Ganesha or an elephant in the house' Does it apply to everybody whose Jupiter is placed in 7th house? I have a small place of worship in my house in one corner in the lower part of a cupboard. I have a few small about 2 to 3 inches tall statues of lord Ganesha, Radha-Krishna and Hanuman. Should I remove them? Can I close them in a box and place the box somewhere in the house? or they should be removed from the house? I also have a heavy statue of lord Ganesha made of brass that I use just for decoration, should that also be removed? Thanks and best regards, Raga < wrote: Dear Raga,This prohibition is for gifting clothes as a part of some upaya; i.e. if you gift clothes with a purpose in mind or a 'sankalp' in mind.
