Dear Dennis,

 

The meat is prohibited too for those whom meat is not an every day

diet. All the prohibitions are according to the 'desh & kaal'...the

country and the time. It will not be prudent to prohibit meat for

those for whom the meat is a staple diet. For example in India, one

can not prohibit a person from Bengal from eating fish.

 

Yes, if you are on a path of spirituality, then eating meat should

be avoided.
