Guest guest
Dear Aditya, Kul Devta normally is one of the ancestors of the family or in some cases it is a local God / Goddess. Only the elders of the family, specially the women, can tell you about the kul devata. It can not be told through the horoscope. Kul Devta is the protector of the family, the well wisher of the family. Hence should be worshipped on all happy occasions. Ishta devata is normally the God traditionally worshipped in the family. If there is no suach tradition in the family, a person can choose any of the Gods he finds affinity with. Suppose there is no tradition in the family of worshipping a god, nor he has any affinity to a particular God, then an Ishta devata can be suggested through the horoscope. Ishta devta is the God you worship for 'Bhakti'. Sincerely, Priya -- In , " aditya_ruia " <aditya_ruia wrote: > > Respected Sir > > I would like to know what is the difference between Kul Devata and > Ishta Devata. What is their significance?
