Guest guest
Dear Dennis, [ a ] A couple of days are to be left in between starting a new upaya. This is a precaution lest the two upaya get mixed up. If we do not leave a few days in between, the two upaya will become one which may not be desirable. Just a couple of days in between is good enough. You do not have to leave more days. [ b ] If the upaya is time bound i.e. for 43 days regularly, in that case if you miss an upaya for a day, you will have to start all over again. But if the upaya is not time bound , and is an open ended upaya, then missing the upaya on a day doesn't count as a break. You could start it again without having to give a few days in between. [ c ] It depends on your convenience, you could offer it once a week or every day. The quantity is not important. The rule to be observed the first day only when you start the upaya. [ d ] Reciting a stotra is good for appeasing a planet. When we do it as an upaya, it is for a specific objective. Praying to God in general is beneficial, but praying to God with a desire of a boon, or some particular benefit is another thing. The same is true about stotra. One could recite a stotra without seeking any specific benefit.
