OM NAMO NARAYANAYA

Dear Karu,

Sorry,I misunderstood about ending of the Nakshatra Pada degrees. So it has to be 3rd Pada will end on 9-59-59 and 10th deg.starts with 4th Pada which is Moksha Pada.So my doubts are cleared.Just now I was referring to Sri Narasihma's Vedic Astrology- An Integrated approach and my doubts are cleared about Padas. But Ihave another opinion about the selection of 10th degree for exaltation to Surya.No.10 -1 indicates Soul ( Surya is the Karaka for this ) and 0 is uniting with GOD and so 10 indicates the Soul wnats to unite with GOD.I may be wrong also in this context.

Sorry for misleading.

hamsa om soham

"1" indicates Surya, and "0" indicates Lagna. "10" shows the effects of Sun in lagna, and perception as the king.

"5" indicates the Guru, who is accompanied by his sishyas (Budha). Guru is exalted at the 5th degree.

Dear Ajit

When you say that 1 indicates Sun, does it follow that 2 indicates

Moon, 3-Jupiter (you mentioned 5 as being Jup), and so on as is used

by some modern western numerologists? What is the basis for this

system?

Is there a system in trad astrology where the planets are given

numbers and predictions are made according to the numbers? Can the

planets be numbered acc to the weekdays or the tithis?

There is of course the katapayadi etc systems but I think they are for

understanding the texts? - I do not know. Could you please enlighten

me?

Thanks and regards

Dear respected members.

Assuming a Leo lagna of the birth chart where Sun is exalted in the 9

house and Venus exalted in the 8 house. Based on LK, Sun is exalted

in the 1st house and Venus exalted in the 12 house.

Am I right to say that based on LK both Sun and Venus in the natal

chart are not exalted and therefore their good qualities are not

present?

Many thanks

Wong ji,

Lal Kitab has nothing to do with sign placement of planets. Lal Kitab

has it's own methodology for determining malefic and benefic nature of

planets. What's more, you can verify their malefic/ benefic nature

based on Lal Kitab grammar and text. In my opinion, it quick and easy

in comparison to classical astrology.

In Lal Kitab, it is not only the placement of planet in some house but

also placement of other planets and relationship can make one planet

exalted/debilitated. For example placement of Ketu or Mars in first

house can make sun exalted. So you cannot tell the nature of planet by

mere placement.
