Guest guest
Friends, Sorry, I do not send out viruses as some people have received supposedly from me. Some unfortunate person is sending out virus-laden attachments on my behalf. I never send attachments nor do I open any attachments that I do not know about. As a general precaution, you MUST not open an attachement unless you know, in advance, that it is specifically supposed to be coming for you. I am sorry but there is nothing (that I know of) that I can do to prevent this. The subject in my EMails is always very descriptive. Suspect one's usually carry a brief or non-descript subject. Guest guest
Bhatia ji, This virus is very smart. It is not necessary that your computer is infected. Rather it can send e-mail from any ifected computer having your e-mail id in it's address book. The e-mail seems to be coming from your account. I request every member of this group who is using outlook/outlook express for sending e-mails to scan their computer for viruses. Guest guest
This virus problem is something I have encountered on every professional group I am a member of and there are several. The remedy for this is three fold. 1. Dont use M$ nonsense of an email client Outlook. It is full of security holes. There are several free ones - the one I use is Eudora from Qualcom. Never faced a single problem. 2. Dont download emails to your pc excepting those from trusted sources. Use webmail facility that almost every ISP provides. I know this will increase the cost for those using dialup but in this day and age almost everyone is on high bandwidth non-dialup connectivity and the question essentially is penny-wise or pound-foolish for those using dialup. 3. Use a a good anti-virus protection and firewall. There are several free ones available. I use AVG from GriSoft for anti-virus and ZoneAlarm for firewall. It lets me sleep easy .
