Offering milk at a banyan tree was ok. Yes, insert the silver piece and leave it as it is. You don't have to close the slit. But make sure that the silver piece goes in. Yes Kalava is the raw cotton thread dyed red . Why bother, take some raw cotton thread and dye it dull red yourself. place the silver elephant any where in your room. Its going to be a very small statue any way. If you like you can carry it in your purse. I am afraid , it is the silver bangle which should have the dull red meena. The upaya for marriage has already been suggested. If I am not asking for too much, please suggest whether these upayas have to be done on particular days or any day for maximum benefit.
