Dear srinivas,

 

[ 1 ] the earthen pot you offer to the river can be without a lid.

[ 2 ] the copper container [ dibbi ] must have a lid and after

filling it with honey you have to close it with the lid.

[ 3 ] All the upaya to be done during the day time ie after the sun

rise and before the sun set.
