There is no such thing as a general upaya as some books

make it out to be . There are quite a few books which describe a

planet and then suggest a few upaya . That is not only meaningless it

is misleading too . Analysing a horoscope is far more easy than

prescribing an upaya . I am using the word ' prescribing' like in

medical profession . Before prescribing an upaya for any planet all

these factors are to be kept in mind ; the planet with its friends

and enemies , the grahphal - rasiphal factor , masnui components ,

the rasi ,the house , and the six forms of the upaya . Out of all

these you have to prepare the best concoction which you think will

get the best results . As regards preparing a data base , I agree it

is not impossible , but it isn't all that easy either . The

parameters I just enumerated are so vast that their permutation

combinations will be huge. Secondly , even if such a compendium were

produced it will discourage people to study the subject , the natural

tendency will be to open the index and prescribe the upaya , as some

homeopaths do , open the meteria medica [ or whatever the name ] and

prescribe. Therefore the best thing is to buy the book Lal Kitab ,

keep on reading it like a novel till you understand , buy some

commentaries on the book and then try make some sense out of it.

Tedious way of doing things , isn't it ? I don't mean to discourage

you , but that's the only way.
