Guest guest
Pt Roop Chand Joshi (1898 – 1982) is the originator of the Lal Kitab system. He acquired this knowledge in his dreams when he was in his early twenties. He brought this knowledge to the general public by publishing FIVE different volumes of Lal Kitab. All these volumes were written in Urdu, the most popular language in Punjab at that time. Contrary to dis-information spread by numerous parties (with vested interest of selling their own versions or offering " professional " advice) Lal Kitab was neither published in Arabic or Farsi nor was it obtained from other sources. I have personally challenged these people to show me the Arabic/Farsi books. At that point, these " Daivgyas " and " Lal Kitab Doctors " stop communicating with me. The details of Lal Kitabs are as follows: VOLUME YEAR DETAILS ====== ==== ======= I. 1939 Lal Kitab Ke Farmaan -- Comprehensive introduction to Lal Kitab methodology; Astrology and Palmistry II. 1940 Lal Kitab Ke Armaan -- As a companion to Volume I; contains corrections, addendum and further explanation. III. 1942 Lal Kitab - A " pocket book " of Lal Kitab methodology; most of the text is in verse format. IV. 1944 Lal Kitab - A detailed book exclusively on palmistry based on Lal Kitab methodology. V. 1952 Lal Kitab - Astrology based on Palmistry - the most detailed Lal Kitab (1171 pages). Other unpublished material - Panditji wrote vast amount of Lal Kitab related material that remains unpublished. Today, all the originally published books are rare to find and among the most sought after collector's items. Unauthorized, transliterated copies of Lal Kitab (in Hindi) are available in the market place. The sad part is that all these transliterations are awfully bad. Various lines have been left off, words have been misread to cause the meaning of the sentence to change completely and, the books have not been proofread at all. Unauthorized photocopies of Lal Kitab (in Urdu) are available; I have seen these ads in the past. I recommend that you get hold of those from somewhere (probably Nai Sarak in Delhi) and study the system from the original material. Most of the " Lal Kitab type " books available in the market place are absolute garbage. This is due to the fact that these authors have added their own interpretation and utterly nonsensical remedial measures. I don't know what to recommend. Numerous people have been pleading with Pt Som Dutt Joshi, (Pt Roop Chand Joshi's son) to reprint the already published Lal Kitabs. He is seriously thinking about re-publishing these books in the very near future. I don't know of any on-line material on this topic. I'd like to hear from other members and at least a list of what books they have. How are you learning the Lal Kitab method? It would be an interesting survey. As time permits, I will continue to provide more details. Thankfully, we also have Virender Joshi (grandson of Pt Roop Chand Joshi) in our forum now. We can press him for some input. Thanks.
