6. Isht and Kasht Tendencies. Reduce 1 from each of Chesht Rasmi

and Uchch Rasmi. Then multiply the products by 10 and add together. Half of the

sum will represent the Isht Phala (benefic tendency) of the Grah. Reduce Isht

Phala from 60 to obtain the Grah's Kasht Phala (malefic tendency).

namaste.

 

i had also referred to the same book by B V Raman , and if you would notice , that after giving those formulas for Ishta and Kashta Phala ,

B V Raman calculates the values for the standard horoscope in the book and considering that example , the Ishta and Kashta phalas do amount to a total for 60 for all grahas .

 

Also , there is a reference to the sum total of Ishta and Kashta phala always amounting to 60. reference is chapter 28 , BHPS..

 

the chapter no may differ depending on which translation of BHPS youre using , but BHPS clearly states that after ishta phala has been found out , it is simply to be deducted from 60 to obtain Kashta Phala .
