JHora v7.2/7.3 - Possible Bug in Nakshatra related calculations on Transit Tab

Dear Narasimha,

 

Namaste.

 

While reading your book and working on calculations using JHora, I

found some problem in the calculations of Special Nakshatras on

Transit tab in JHora v7.2 and in v7.3.

Can you please check if this is really a bug or something missing as

per manual calculations.

I detail the problems as per my understanding, below.

 

Transit Date/time for calculations : Dec 16, 2008; 7:30 pm (timezone :

+5:30 GMT)

 

* Select " Special Taras/Nakshatras (from Moon) " in " longitudes

window " once on Transit Tab.

* Check : Janma Nak = Asre

* Check : Naidhana Nak = 7th from Janma = Swati

* Then, Abhisheka Nak should be 13th from Asre = Uttaraashaadha.

* Problem 1 : However, it is shown as " Pushyami " .

* This problem with correct display of Abhisheka Nak is always

there. It is always out of order.

* Problem 2: It seems the nakshatra related calculations are done

using the 28 Nak scheme. Abhijit is shown as the Abhisheka Nak if

Transit date/time = August 15, 2008; 7:30 pm

* Problem 3: The lord of Abhijit is shown as Moon, though it

should be Sun, being part of Uttaraashaadha. (It seems this is because

Abhijit nak is an extra one in this calculations. If it is not there,

the correct nak shown would be Sravanam with lord as Moon).

* Problem 4: Due to this, the calculation and thus the display of

information with the options " Aspects on special nakshatras " and

" Transits in special nakshatras " also is incorrect. I believe this

affects other information related to calculations using nakshatras

numbering, such as Latta, Anga graha, though I have not manually

checked that.

* The above problems are there with corresponding (from lagna)

option also.

 

 

Can you please verify if there is something not correct.

Some classics give 13th star as janma nakshatra and some as 28th. In my book, I mentioned what Pt Rath originally taught me. Later, he changed the teaching and I changed it in JHora too. From Asresha, Pushyami is indeed the 28th star.

I tested using 7.31 beta and problem 3 does not exist. It shows the

lord of Abhijit as Sun. There was a problem previously in 7.2, but it

has been fixed already.
