Errors in Navamsa Dasha, Maheshwara Calculations

Dear Rao Ji,

 

I tried to duplicate the Navamsa dasha for the chart 47 in Pt. Sanjay

Rath's book " Updesa Sutras (page 221), however I could not. In the

book the dasha starts from Aq, whereas Jhora v7.3 gives it from Le.

The Mahashwera is Rahu (Jhora).

 

Please advise.

Errors in Navamsa Dasha, Maheshwara Calculations

Indira Gandhi's lagna is Cn. Navamsa dasa starts with the sammukha rasi of the stronger of lagna and 7th. In Indira Gandhi's chart, Cn and Cp are equally strong. After exhausting all rules, we come to the longitudes of lords. Saturn is more advanced in his rasi than Moon. So Cp wins. Sammukha rasi of Cp is Le. So navamsa dasa starts with Le.

 

If you take Cn to be stronger than Cp, then its sammukha rasi Aq starts it. Sanjay ji took Cn to be stronger in his book.

 

Based on the rules he taught me and I programmed in JHora, JHora takes Cp to be stronger than Cn.

 

You may see some calculation differences between his early books and JHora. But I programmed what he taught me.

Thanks for the reply. I have another problem with Shoola Dasha.

 

When trying to use 10th house for mother of a native (10th being

stronger due to diff oddity), Jhora still give the Shool Dasha

starting with 4th house rashi. Please advise.

 

Birth data: Houston, TX, July 14, 1985; 2;23 AM (DST).

Shoola dasa starts from the stronger of 1st and 7th. Shoola dasa of mother starts from the stronger of 4th and 10th. Not a bug.

Namaste,

 

Going back to Indira Gandhi's chart, your book (vedic astrology:

integrated approach, page 241), noted that Rudra for her is Rahu. I

understand the logic, Rahu being debilitated, is qualified to become

Rudra. However, Jhora computes it to be Surya. Pt, Rath's book

(Updesha Sutram, page 222..), noted Jupiter to be Rudra.

 

Which is it ?
