Namaste,

Did the person who measured the time at birth calibrate the watch used based on IST, i.e. the standard time mentioned on TV and radio, or based on a local mean time that would change from longitude to longitude?

That will decide what you enter in JHora.

Most people calibrate their watches for the standard time only. LMT is needed only in old births when there was no standard time.

[jhora_help] Does Jhoraneeds time correction

Hi,

I use Jagannatha Hora for all my astro calculations. Do I need to enter time in IST for a native born in India as it is OR after making time correction.

example:-

Delhi is 77E12 longitude

While IST is at 82E50 longitude.

So for a person born at 9 am IST, should I enter time as 8:40 approx or 9 am.

Thanks & Regards,

Vipin.

|| Om Gurave Namah ||Dear Friends, As a simple thumb rule enter the time the way it was noted. For example,If Birth time was noted as IST then enter time in IST (which 5:30 TimeZone)If Birth Time was noted as LST local standard/mean time then select the LMT.

Namaste,

If the watch is calibrated to a standard time and you enter standard time, software can convert internally whener LMT is needed for some calculations. You check the LMT box in birthdata entry dialog only if the time was noted using a watch calibrated using LMT (as opposed to standard time).

Resp. Sir,

Watch we are reffering is calibrated to IST and not LMT.

So you mean to say that software takes care of Local Time Calculations.

Please advise.

Thanks a lot,
