Dear sir.I downloaded the recent version of j hora 7.2full.zip.I

tried to install

it but I cannot,so I deleted it and redownloaded it,yet same

problem.When I click the setup icon and check the task manager i see

the

following:-

wowexec.exe and setup.exe.But they are not showing memory usage,etc.I

then ended the two (2) processes and I get the following system error

message:-

The request to end the selected 16 bit task has timed out.The Win 16

subsystem maybe unstable.press ok to terminate the win 16 subsystem

or

cancel to leave it running.I then try the same with the other 2

versions

already had on system viz jh 7.1 and 7.02.But both of their setup

shows

same problem.Kindly assist me in overcoming these problems.My system

is:-

Windows XP SP2,with GB RAM,AMD Sempron processor of 3000+,1.8 Ghz.I

just got broadband connection.Thus I downloaded it via Download

accelerator plus.which I have done with the other

two versions and

never had any

problems installing before.I also downloaded it from the sri

jagannath.org site as well in attempting to see if it would rectify

but same problem (without DAP).Mind you a technician had just

reformatted

my system.I/m beginning to believe that he did not do it well.Yet I

eagerly desire your computer knowledge assistance in rectifying these

problems to avoid any of same in the future.Kindly HELP ME.What can I

do,etc

to correct the problem(s).I eagerly await your response.I spoke to a

friend who knows about computers for he was a tech support once.He

too

downloaded and successfully installed the jhora on his computer.Yet

|| Om Gurave Namah ||Dear Suresh, There should be no problem with JHora in this case. So, I think the problem is in your machine configuration. Can please try to install JHora after stopping ALL antivirus. (You could be taking a risk if there is some virus in your system). Sometimes the Antivirus program scans entire JHora for virus, Since JHora is about 100MB unzipped it can take a long time for the antivirus to scan completely JHora. This may give impression of being hanged.

Since JHora itself does not have any virus you can safely turn off Anti-Virus only for JHora installation.After you download the JHora make sure you Unzip the entire JHora in a temporary folder and then click Setup.Exe.

I had the same problem as the one you described when installing JHora

7.2 on my Windows XP system.

 

The following steps took care of the issue in my case:

 

1. Set the RPC Locator service to automatic.

2. Disconnect the network cable to your computer.

3. Reboot the system.

4. Log in using the local administrator account (not as a user with

administrator priviledges).

5. Stop as many programs as you can that are running in the system tray.

6. Install JHora 7.2

 

There seems to be a conflict with the InstallShield setup.exe and some

other program. I haven't examined the issue in detail.

 

I think all the steps listed above may not necessarily be relevant to

the resolution. However since they worked for me I listed them all.

I am having the exact same problem with my brand new computer w/Vista.

I am wondering if you solved your problem and how you did it. I don't

understand the directives given by Porus Lakdawala. I am not on a

network, and I don't have InstallSHield (I don't think). I have tried

many downloads. This one will not open the archived zip file. My unzip

program says it's invalid. I tried 2 unzip programs with the same

response. Any advice would be appreciated.
