Dear janaknp,

Having taken the initiative to be in the light of Vedic knowledge is

in itself a major step.

Now for learning Vedic Astrology - there are many avenues available

based on your access to them. You may be fortunate enough to find a

jyotish guru in person and you can have one-on-one sessions/classes

and learn.

JHora is a astrology software developed by Shri PVR Narasimha Rao who

is a highly learned and respected jyotish guru with Sri Jagannatha

Centre. He has been conducting classes in the Boston area for more

than 4 yrs now. Downloadable MP3 recordings of these sessions are

available from Day 1 from http://www.sivashakti.org/astro/ website.

Not sure whether the using a website link is allowed here.(apologies!)

Also there are books from respected guru's like Dr B V Raman and even

Shri P V R Naramsimha Rao and many other committed guru's.

Few suggestions.

Shri PVRNarasimha Rao's book is called Vedic Astrology.

Dr B V Raman beginner book is Hindu Predictive Astrology.

Personally I learnt my astrology basics in person from my Guru (Mr

Chandramouli) and then continued with Dr B V Raman books and now I am

listening to these recordings.

You are definitely in the right place.

My best wishes for your success.

Pls make Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra your Gita/Bible and this

should be the right source for all your questions.

Visiti Guruji's book on Jyotish fundamentals is also superb -

specially the panchanga part .

You may to magazine and yes MP3's are also very helpfull.

There are also courses at Sohamsa.com so you may join the 1'st year
