Guest guest
Dear Narasimha, I have checked all of the Divisional Amsas. The only two Divisional Chart Amsa rulers listings that I can find that are inconsistent with the attached article and chart are D-27 and D-20 (D-20 covered in two previous emails). I will only discuss D-27 as I gave comments on D-20 in previous postings. The below listing of D-27 Amsa Lords comes from the attached pdf from the Jagannath Centre. It is titled Non-Planetary Lords of the Divisional Charts by Gauranga Das, Sri Jagannath Centre. BPHS from Bookshelf (by Michiel Boender) in regards to D-27 states: Count forward for odd rasis and reverse order for even rasis. Jagannatha Hora 7.02 always counts forward and in many cases lands on an amsa lord that is one later than would be expected from using the listing from this article or the listing in BPHS. I have posted a chart, which will allow you to quickly ascertain this in conjunction with the below listing. In Sanjay Rath's chart the Lagna is in the 13th Division/13 Index. In the below listing Aditya should be the amsa lord if one counts forward, which Jagannatha Hora 7.02 seems to be doing in all cases. The program states that Viswakarma (Thvasta) is the amsa lord, which is one amsa lord later. If one were following BPHS letter for letter (counting backwards for even signs) than Vayu would be the amsa lord. In most cases Jhora 7 counts forward and typically lands on the amsa one later than expected, but in some cases, like Rahu, lands on the one expected. Rahu is in the 24th division and Jhora lists Varuna as does the below listing. Either there is a bug in the program in regards to D-27 or there is another system for generating the amsa lords for D-27. Any response to this inquiry would be much appreciated. With my current information, I will not be using either D-20 (covered in earlier postings) or D-27 for determining amsa lords. I have verified the correct amsa lords in PL, which holds to the rules set down in BPHS. I am open to the possibility that there could be modifications within the Jaimini system, but I am unaware of them at this time. If you would like me to present evidence for the D-20, I would be glad to oblige. It must be noted that I have completely gone through your program and randomly checked in each section of the program for bugs. At this time these two are the only ones that I have found. In some cases, where the calculations would be laborious I have not checked. But as I go through your book, which covers all the calculations, I will be!! If your program were totally bug free, I would have to say that overall it is the best that I have seen. I own PL, SJS, Kala, GJ & Jyotish Studio, so this is quite a compliment!! The other programs do have features that yours does not and vice versa. I feel that yours is better because of its content, focus and design.
