Dear Narasimha,

I have nearly completed going through your program a second time. It is a very clean program with exceptional design. I did find another anomaly or discrepancy from normal. It is in regards to the lordship over the D-20 amsas (Vimshamsha). My source for the rulerships is the pdf file called Non-Planetary Rulers of the Divisional Charts and Parahara's Light by Michiel Boender. It is attached under the title Divisional Rulers.pdf. This title was posted on one of the Jagannath websites and is authored by Gauranga Das/Sri Jagannath Centre. The rules for determining the rulers are listed on page 28 of the article and below. He lists two sets of lords with one set of 20 ruling odd signs, and a second set of 20 ruling even signs.

Jagannatha Hora is only using the second set of 20 which rule over even signs. In other words, if a graha is in the first Vimshamsha of Aries the above article (and Parashara's Light by Michiel Boender) would give rulership to Kali. Jagannatha Hora 7.02 gives rulership to Daya. This may be another case of you using a different set of rules. Please let me know if you are, and what text it is based upon so that I may make note of it. See below for the statement in the article covering the rulership of odd/even signs or refer directly to the attached article. I can sent a printscreen if you would like.

Best Wishes,

Ellis Gordon

1.11 Lords of the Vimshamsha (D-20)

The D-20 chart is one of the most interesting and most important divisional charts, as it is

connected with devotion, or religiosity of the person. Maharishi Parashara says that

Vimshamsha commences from Aries in movable signs, from Sagittarius in fixed signs and

from Leo in dual signs. Each part covers 1? 30' 00" of a Rasi. The following table lists the

lords of the 20 parts of an odd and even Rasi.

Re: Bug in the Special Nakshatra Listing

Dear Ellis,

Hora Ratna defines the 28th star from Moon's star as the abhisheka nakshatra. I believe Sanjay ji also uses the same now. He taught special nakshatras and sarvatobhadra chakra once and he used the 28th star. I too use the same, as I found it more reliable. I am not sure of the source of the 13th nakshatra definition. But Hora Ratna gives 28th and JHora follows that.

Dear Narasimha,

I have rechecked using the 28 Nakshatra format as you recommended. Everything falls into place except for the placement of Abhisheka (13th Coronation/Power/Authority). I have attached two printscreens so that you can see my method of designating the Special Nakshatras. From my grid the Nakshatra, Rohini, should fall in the 13th position representing Abhisheka. From the printscreen of Jagannatha Hora it falls in Mool (Moola). There maybe a rule that I am unaware of, but from what I can see this is still a bug within the program. Please let me know if I am missing some information or if this is a bug.

Also, for some reason I can no longer generate the listing under 'Find' in the Help Topics. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling several times and even used different zip folders from different downloads. I have even tried fully deleting the folder and still it doesn't work. Any ideas on how to solve this. The only thing I haven't done is allowed the uninstall to delete all files, which might be used by other programs. But, I would assume that if I delete the entire folder that this would be doing the same thing. Thanks for any further information in regards to Abhisheka and the Find issue. Incidentally, I think your program is fantastic!

Best Wishes,

Ellis Gordon

Re: Bug in the Special Nakshatra Listing

Hi,

By any chance, are you using 27 nakshatra scheme? When finding special nakshatras, 28 nakshatra scheme should be used.

To my knowledge, there are no known bugs in the computation of special nakshatras. If you give an example, I can take a look to see if there is a bug.

Bug in the Special Nakshatra Listing

Hi,My name is Ellis and I live in the US. I am a new member to your group, but I have had JH 7.02 on my computer for about one and a half years. I have noticed that a good percentage of the Special Nakshatras are offset from the correct position, by being placed one Nakshatra before the correct Nakshatra, except in one case where it is quite distant from its correct position. Are any of your group familiar with this bug? And if so, are there any plans for correcting it? I have set up an Excel Spreadsheet to display the correct Special Nakshatra positions. If anyone is interested I will post it as an attachment. I am assuming the the rules for determination of the Special Nakshatras on page 309 of Vedic Astrology: An Integrated Approach by P.V.R. Narasimha Rao are correct. I am completely going through the program at this time to identify any other bugs, since I like Mr. Rao's program very much and see many advantages in the content covered over other US produced programs, although I think much of its content will ultimately be available in Shri Jyoti Star by Andrew Foss, who does an exceptional job of clearing bugs as they are identified.Best Wishes,Ellis GordonUSA
